Question about Exercise & Fitness

Open Question

I OWNER A PRO-FORM PERSONAL TRAINER TREADMILL. IT JUST STOPPED ON ME. I TOOK THE COVER OFF AND THE MOTOR WAS VERY HOT. MY DIGITAL DISPLAY ALSO WENT OFF AS WELL. I UNPLUGGED THE TREADMILL AND LET IT COOL OFF FOR A FEW HOUR. NOW THE MOTOR COMES ON(HIGH) AS SOON AS I CUT THE POWER ON (WITHOUT THE KEY IN THE TREADMILL). WHEN I INSERT THE KEY INTO THE TREADMILL MY DIGITAL DISPLAY LIGHTS UP BUT E2 IS DISPLAYED WHERE MY SPEED SHOULD BE READ.

SOURCE: I have a Sears Pro Form 730si. The treadmill

I believe E4 on ths 730si means that the speed of the motor the sensor is detecting is greater than the set speed. E2 would be the opposite. I believe there is a way to calibrate the speed. Look at the smaller motor controller board.

Hi,

I will advice you try re-calibrate your treadmill, follow the procedure below to re-calibrate it,

Step 1 Stand on the side rails of the treadmill for safety purposes. Remove the safety key. Step 2 Press and hold the two incline buttons. The incline buttons are blue and on the left side of the display. Hold the up and down button simultaneously. Release the buttons when the display reads "Calibration."
Step 3 Press the green start button located either above or below the large, red stop button (depending on your model). Stay on the side rails as the treadmill belt begins to move. Both the speed and incline should go through their full range from lowest to highest, and then back down again.
Step 4 Repeat the process if the display does not read "Calibration Successful."

that part is on the incline motor if that is hot and you are not inclining then something is wrong with the incline motor or the controller board

The repair for this is usually a new elevation motor. However if elevation isn't a big issue for for you, you can disconnect the elevation motor and use treadmill like that. The elevation motor doesn't go out that often. You should check with a local repair person. They may have a used one laying around. I usually keep one on hand to test with.
