SOURCE: Kenmore Side by Side Refrigerator Ice Maker Not Working

A couple things to check here. First see if there is ice in the tray. If so chances are the ice maker will need to be replaced however these are very reliable ice makers. If no ice in the tray pull up on the ejector blade (don't worry you won't break it) turn clockwise to start the ice maker thru a cycle. The ejector blade is the long white bar with fingers on it that run the length of the tray. Once it completes a cycle it should fill with water. If no water then either the fill tube is frozen over and will need to be defrosted or the water valve is bad.

SOURCE: Items sometimes freeze on refrigerator side of unit - model GSS25LGMA

It is most likely a bad damper motor.  This is where the cool air comes out into the fridge section.  On this model it is a fairly common problem and comes a whole assembly.  The part # is WR49X10091 and will cost anywhere from $100 to $122.  Knowing this model I would bet this is your problem.  If the damper is bad and stuck open cold air will just keep blowing in.  It is suppose to open and close based on the temp setting.  Let me know if you have any other questions.

SOURCE: Kenmore Coldspot w/Ice Maker Not Making Ice

hi LOP7,
In most cases you can easily solve this problem.
step one would be to make sure your freezer is getting cold enough. If you have icecream in your freezer is it frozen solid or is it soft. Most icemakers cycle around 0 degrees and if your freezer is not getting to 0 then it will not cycle and it will not make ice.
Step two would be to make sure you icemake is cycling. To do this simply lift the little shut off arm on your icemaker and wait about an hour then go back to the icemaker and drop the arm down. The icemaker should start going through a cycle. You should notice the arm slowly begin to raise and the ice dispencer fingers will begin to turn. Then you will hear it call for water. You may hear a humm.
If the freezer is cold enough and the icemaker is cycling that only leaves the inlet valve. replace the valve and enjoy the ice.
If the freezer is cold enought and the icemaker does not cycle, then you have a bad icemaker. Simply replace the icemaker and viola.
Third if the freezer is not cold enought 0 defrees. Then you may have a defrost problem. In this case post more info and I will be happy to help. Good luck mca0824@aol.com

Check to make sure you freezer is at 0 to 5 degrees. If it is not the water valve to the ice maker will not even open.

SOURCE: kenmore refrigerator model 106, 2doors, ice forms

I had the same problem and discovered that the water control valve was not shutting off completely between cycles. The water seeping through the valve was freezing in the water inlet tube. I replaced the water control valve for the icemaker and solved the problem.

Our Kenmore Side by Side refrigerator ice maker is not working- I'm not sure I found the correct tag inside the refrigerator side of my side by side that said: model #596-526-79202 ... Serial#...

Well that is better model numbers than most people give! The first three numbers say the refrigerator is an Amana. Sometimes the Kenmore and the OEM number gets lost in the translation and it makes it a little more difficult to pick the exact model number by Amana. Sears Parts Direct you will need to put the numbers together like this=> 596.52679202 Repair Clinic can also convert model number to parts here=> 596.52679202 You can also go to Amana and begin your search by features=> sea_breeze_118.jpg Click Logo This is where Sears drops the ball and you will need to compare => side by side's French Door and then=> Literature again until you see your model number
Then=> Once you see your model click=> Literature
That breaks your model number into Use and Care (1616.87 KB), Warranty (126.21 KB), Dimension Guide (78.58 KB), Energy Guide (97.01 KB), Specifications Sheet (434.26 KB) Once you find the exact Amana Model Number I will pull the Service Manual up and need to contact you a different way because they will not let me post their Service Manuals here. Sea Breeze
I hope I have not confused you but that is the way you will need to get the answers once Sears changes the model number. Your model uses a=> 67003153 Ice Maker Assembly That ice maker is made up of components that sometimes fail. Here I leave you with a short tutorial. If you have further questions please contact me here or Fixya, Thanks, Sea Breeze

I had the same problem. Sometimes the tray overfills and freezes in the little line that fills the ice cube tray.

I solved the problem by taking an ice pick and clearing the ice from the end of that little waterline until the water started flowing again.

Icemaker leaks after refilling causing ice cubes to weld into a mass of ice.

I believe your water control valve on the back of refrigerator is leaking slowly and causing this. They are called dual water control valves because the ice maker work on one side and the water dispenser works on the other side. Most ice makers open the water valve forthe ice maker for 7.5 seconds just long enough to fill. Do you have your Sears model numer for example 321.54689 somewhere on your refrigerator or around door frame. Sea Breeze
