Question about Toshiba Tecra M2-S410 (032017233812) PC Notebook

1 Answer

I have a Toshiba Tecra-M2-S410 machine, and it does not turn on anymore. When I remove the battery and plug it in, the power light turns green as expected. When I press the power button, two other lights turn green and stay green, but the screen does not turn on, and there is no sign of picture on the screen. Before, when I turned on the laptop I heard a special sound, meaning that the computer is turning on, and the lights flashed I guess, but now nothing happens. There is no booting sound anymore. Any clue what the problem is? Last time that the laptop was working, I was in the middle of something that the OS hanged, and when I turned the laptop off, it never turned on again. The bottom of the laptop was very warm in that moment. Thanks for your time in advance,

Hi mohammad - seems the LCD of the laptop is gone bad . as u said u gets the light on the laptop and also sound and then it goes dark - shows possibly the LCD gone bad .
Give a try with this if you have a computer in your home - on the back of the monitor you will find a VGA cable (probably with a blue color end which goes to cpu ) unplug it from cpu and plug it in the laptop (side of laptop you will find a same input VGA slot blue color ) and boot your laptop after turning on both (monitor and laptop) if you find the screen on the monitor then it will be sure that your laptop LCD has gone bad .
On your laptop if you are not able to find the boot screen also that refers to LCD brokerage -anyway try the above you will be sure ..

Actually I said I don't get the sound anymore. I will definitely check the other VGA solution, when I get back home.

My toshiba tecra 8000 will not power on

What you need to do to test this is the following:

1 - Check if its the battery : Remove the battery, plug in the laptop and try to power on the machine, if it powers on then your battery is dead and the system board is fine

2 - With the batter in and the laptop plugged in you should get a charging LED light up somewhere on the laptop, if you do not then the board is most likley gone.

If removing the battery and plugging the laptop in still fails to start the board of spin the fans and you hear no beeps, then the board is gone.

Hope this helps

Computer wont turn on

Voltage problem. Try removing all power connections (including battery) for 10-15 minutes +. Then plug in and see if it turns on. If not, you may have to take it somewhere to get internal components checked.

Toshiba Tecra M2 Series

Was the laptop on when it turned off? It may be a PSU problem but we can determine this by removing the battery. Make sure you disconnect the AC adapter while your removing the battery. Inspect the contacts and make sure`there are no black marks or any other dirt. Leave the battery out and plug in your AC adapter. Try the power again.
There are a couple of possibilities in terms of problems that I can suspect so far. Did anything out of the ordinary happen when the computer just stopped working all of the sudden.
1. Battery has failed and short circuited the contacts 2. Power supply failure 3. Motherboard could have failed in style. 4. Power contacts for the AC adapter are damaged.
