You definitely have an air leak somewhere along the gasket. Check along the gasket for any place that is not sealed properly. It could be that you didn't quite get it in the right place as well. It might be off-centered along the edge of the door.

If you end up having to replace the gasket again with a brand new one, clean the area that the gasket will be applied, with alcohol before application.

Good Luck!

  • Behind the lower crisper drawer
  • Behind the lower toe kick-plate
  • On the face frame of the refrigerator body

Whirlpool sideby side ref. ED5FHGXKQ02 condensation on walls of freezer causes accumulation of water on freezer floor

Most times that is a defrost drain blockage behind the rear wall of your freezer back panel. Sometimes the door seals allow some moisture to accumulate if air is drawn in through the seals leaking or the door to the dispenser is stuck open. But when you say it has accumulated in a pool of ice on the bottom of the freezer then the drain is blocked. I'm going to send you to some links and I want you to read through most of what is said and just use the parts the refer to your refrigerators problem, Sea Breeze

The seal is broken around the door and this requires total replacement to prevent the moisture, the cold air from escaping, the warm moist air from entering and causing your refrigerator to run more often than needed and running up your power bill. If I had your model number it would help me to help you find a door seal and fix the problem. So if you need my help you will need to locate the make and model number and write me a message here on Fixya that lets me know you have the number and are ready for help. There are 28 different versions of the BR22 so click HERE and then enter the complete model number. Thank you and if I can help you please let me know, If all else fails contact me at Thanks, Sea Breeze

Amana bc21vc has bottom freezer- freezer works fine fridge is warm already melted the ice build up in back of freezer twice in the last six months, had a repair guy form sears the first time he replaced...

The heater installed by Sears repair was probably an ANTI-CONDENSATION HEATER. The purpose of this part is to keep moisture from forming water drops (condensation) on the vertical surfaces of the refrigerator. There is usually an ENERGY SAVER switch somewhere inside the refrigerator so you can turn off the heater during dry weather. As for the refrigerator being too warm, try this: Purchase a REFRIGERATOR THERMOMETER from a hardware or appliance store. Place it inside the refrigerator, noting the temperature , then each day place it in a different spot inside the refrigerator, noting the temperature at each location. IDEALLY, THE TEMP SHOULD BE ABOUT 36 TO 38 DEGREES F,IN ANY LOCATION. Try using the temperature and usage controls in the ref to set the temp, and wait a day for the fridge to stabilize before reading the thermometer. IIf the temp cannot stay in adjustment, or is not uniform, call the repair man and show him your notes how the temp varies. This will allow him to pinpoint the problem more accurately.
