Good day,
This is usually caused by the drain hose not being high enough.
It has to at least reach as high as the top of the cabinet.
Or,
Once in a while a drain hose fitting too tightly into a stand pipe can cause the same effect.

Washer fiills with water, to the top, then stops. The lid is closed but it won't do anything. It doesn't start to wash. I try to reset button to spin and drain but nothing.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
there is likely to be a problem with either the lid solenoid/lock or the 'lid closed' sensor. Both require a service engineer's attention I suggest ;-0(
Good luck,

The water just keeps running and running, it will not advance to the wash cycle.

If you are saying the water keeps on running but never fills then the water is siphoning or running out. There are a few things that can cause this.

The drain hose is connected solid to the drainpipe with tape or some know of airtight connection. This will cause the water to siphon out because it cannot get air. If this is the case you will have to install a siphoning break. This will allow the drain to be connected the drainpipe with an airtight connection and still get air. Note that the only reason for the airtight connection is so that water will not leak when the drain backs up. If the drain will drain well you don

water can't run out of drain until the drain pump runs. must be water level continuously rising, but slowly. definitely water solenoid switch problem. pl. open and clean if u can or replace.

My washer will not spin and can only fill tub on small loads cause water will run out

does the water keep running and it keeps draining the water? if so your drain hose needs to be higher than the highest water level in the tub or it will drain as it fills.

The door won't lock and water is leaking out

it may be being sucked out by siphoning through your sewer pipe .Probably a siphon problem . Check your drain hose to make sure hose is not stuffed too far down drain and air can get between the hose and the drain pipe . If you have tapped the hose to the drain to keep water from coming out the drain pipe , go to home depot , and get a siphon break . When a washer fills , but water level doesn't rise in the machine ,

Water won't cut off on super load

yes raise your drain hose up. do not shove it down the drain to far or the bottom of the hose will be below the water level in the machine. it is called siphoing. you can hear it by shutting the machine off when it is at the cycle you stated and hear it draining. pull the hose up and secure with a strap.

Washer keeps draining

Sounds like you may have a siphoning problem. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r587481-prevent_washer_siphoning

Double check your installation and drain hose placement. You need to ensure you have an air gap to break the suction caused by the drain line. In the event that this is not a simple siphoning issue, please let me know if you require additional assistance. I hope this helps you.
