I am running in safe mode, I computer will only let me go back one day, this problen started ten days ago.

Restart your computer During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup usually the Delete or F2 key this will vary depending on your computer and operating system Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS using the arrow keys load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart.
if this fails to fix the problem During the boot process tap the f8 button three times this will boot into safe mode where the only things working will be your mouse and keyboard enabling you to attempt to repair your computer you could select the option start at last known configuration that worked this will tell what file has been corrupted or missing you might be able to work your way through problem if you are unable to find a solution restart back into safe mode you might need to select your operating system to load into safe mode To perform a system restore, follow these steps: 1.Click Start, click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK. 2.On the General tab, click Launch System Restore. 3.Select Restore my computer to an earlier time, and then click Next. 4.Calendar dates in bold are possible restore points. Click the most recent one to view system restore information. 5.Select a system checkpoint or an installation restore point, and then click Next. 6.Close all other programs. 7.To start the system restore, click Next. 8.Your computer restarts. Restart your computer
During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup
Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS you can load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults ,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart
if the problem is still there

'restart your computer repeatedly tapping the f8 key to enter safe mode while the screen is black once in safe mode where the only things working will be your keyboard and mouse allowing you to attempt to repair your computer

click start control panel administration tools computer management in the left panel events + to expand then system you will see all errors in right panel right click select properties this will tell you what has occurred and the time it occurred

you might use the system restore to restore your system to an earlier time click start all programs accessories system tools you should see your system restore option

Answer: To get into Safe Mode with Networking: 1.Log out and reboot your machine. 2.When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly. 3.Select Safe Mode with Networking from the resulting menu. 4.Login. If malware has changed your password, try logging in as Administrator. By default, Administrator has no password. 5.The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different. 6.When you're finished doing what you need to do, log out and reboot back into normal mode. Hope that helps.

Notebook appears to start booting for about 3 seconds

See if you can get into safe mode by pressing F8 once you turn the laptop on. It will take you to a boot menu if it works properly, choose safe mode.
If you can get into safe mode then choose system restore and choose the last date the laptop was working properly. The let it restore your computer back to that date, it will need to reboot and it will go back into windows normally as long as restore went thru.

If you can't get into safe mode then you'll need to wipe out your drive and restore your computer back to factory defaults.

If you can't do that then you might have a bad hard drive and that would need to be replaced.

Your computer stopped responding, restarted unexpectedly, or was automatically shut down to protect your files and folders. Choose last known configuration to reverse to the most recent setting that...

Choose safe mode and see if you can get into it. If you can then go into system restore and choose the last date that you remember the computer working properly.

At this point the computer will restore the computer back to the earliest date that it was working properly.

Once you do this the computer will reboot and it should go back into windows normally and work just fine. If for some reason it doesn't then windows is corrupted and you'll need to wipe out the hard drive and restore the computer back to factory defaults.

Aspire 5520-5912 does not start ,shows only blue screen

Try to get into safe mode by pressing F8 when you first turn onto your computer. Choose safe mode. If you can get into safe mode. Try doing a system restore back to the last date the computer was last working properly.

If you can't get into safe mode then you'll need to wipe out your hard drive and get your system back to factory defaults. You probably have corrupt system files that are causing these problems.

Try turning on your computer and keep pressing F8 and it should bring you to a menu. Choose "safe mode" and see if you can get into safe mode. If you can get into safe mode and then go into system restore and choose a date back to when you computer was last working properly for you. If you can't get into safe mode and goes back to a black screen then your OS is corrupt and you'll need to wipe out the hard drive and restore you computer back to factory defaults.
