Question about Heating & Cooling

Open Question

I have a Vokera Compact LE with a Honeywell Room Thermostat it has two wires connected Red and Yellow and an earth wire. I want to replace the Room Stat with a Sunvic TLX RFP calling for volt free connections of the looped terminals of the boiler to Common marked L In and normally open contact marked SL on. The existing Honeywell wiring is Red to terminal 1 and yellow to terminal 3. Should I connect Red to SL on and Yellow L in ?

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Manual Thermostat replcaement with Programmable Digital unit.

Hopefully there are markings on the old t-stat as to what terminal is what.
on the honeywell 8000 use the heat pump labeling and then the standard wiring would be
R- red
AUX-white
Y- yellow
B- O/B
C- black
G- green
There should not be a bare wire, it probably just has the insulation stripped back way too far.
You should probably open the furnace and compare the terminal label in the furnace to the wire color. normally yellow and blue pass through the furnace and are wire nutted to wires going to the outdoor unit. In the furnace the white wire will connect to the w or w1 terminal. also, you will need to set the Honeywell stat to have the following parameters.
170-7
190-1
200-0
other parameters that I did not specify, you may read the manual and make your own decision but I recommend factory settings for the other parameters

I need to replace an old Thermostat that just has 3 wires coloured Red, Blue and Yellow. The Honeywell THR830TUK Thermostat I have bought shows 5 wires on the diagram. I'm not sure which wire goes into...

The honeywell THR830TUK thermostat does not require a neutral as shown in the instructions.Connect the LIVE to terminal "1" and your YELLOW SIGNAL wire to terminal "3".
Connect your EARTH (if you have one) to the EARTH connection on the top left hand corner of the thermostat and blank off your NEUTRAL wire with a block connector. These instructions were supplied to me by Honeywell Customer Support.Hope this helps.

Changing a room thermostat a potterton to honeywell t6360

I think I've done it - but don't take this as absolute truth.
For the Honeywell T6360B the original Potterton wiring should be rewired as follows:
Brown [Live] goes to terminal 1; Blue [neutral] goes to Terminal 2 and the yellow/green [which is not an earth but a switched live - i.e. gives live to the heating system when the thermostat clicks in] goes to terminal 3.
Obviously all done with the power isolated and when it was switched back on we had heating again :o)
It's been on over two hours now and all seems fine.
