Wirelessly at first. The results of this will determine whether or not you need to connect via an ethernet cable. Note however, if you've never connected to this router via an ethernet cable, it's very likely that it's simply not correctly setup for this. You can of course, also try connecting the printer via an ethernet cable and monitor whether or not the problem persists (this will also help allow you to determine the source of the problem).

The two wireless routers THINK they are directly connected to the Internet and they prevent the WAN side ports from being pinged so hackers can't find out you have a device on the Internet. The devices will let you to the Internet without any problems, why do you need to ping from the router to the WiFi routers anyway. all of that is your internal network....
One thing that might fix this is if you can put the WiFi routers in BRIDGE mode. Some routers will let you do that, some won't. Don't put the router that is facing the internet into bridge mode. hackers will be able to see your whole network.

Cant connect to internet

Check your all physical connection and cable..

First,restart your computer

->Open web browser and enter the IP address and enter the login details on the login screen and proceed.Click Router Status under Maintenance and check if you see your IP address.

->If you see 0.0.0.0, the router is not obtaining the IP address. It can happen due to various reasons. Contact your ISP and ask for the details including username, password for PPPoE etc. and try to connect to the Internet again afterwards.

->After configure you router ,open Command Prompt, type 'ipconfig/all' and hit Enter. Check Default Gateway

->If you are still unable to browse the Internet, ping your router's connection to the PC. Open Command Prompt, type 'ping IPaddress(ex:192.168.1.0)', hit Enter.

->If you get the Request timed out message then check your router connection again and correct the Ethernet connection between your PC and the router.

If a change in my firewall is preventing netgear router, i do i fix?

First, make sure the cables are properly connected, if using xDSL modem, it must be connected to the WAN port, the pc on the ethernet ports (any of the 4 ports available).
Second, check your current IP Address (default 192.168.1.x), then ping from your pc the ip address of the router (default 192.168.1.1). If OK, then your LAN connection works fine.
Third, ping any internet site, i.e. ping www.yahoo.com. if a reply response is received, your internet connection is now working.

If not, reset the router then do the initial set up from the router web page. Go to IE or mozilla browser, type http://192.168.1.1 (default ip add of router), the password or username is admin (default - refer to your manual). If already inside the page, go to the setup folder then proceed to configure the router. After all the configuration, check your internet connection, go to any web site.

I have a D link router DIR 100 and since i have installed Service Pack 3 in my laptop, I am unable to browse internet. It shows wireless connection as connected but I am not able to browse anything....

Well te first thing you need to make sure that if you have the connectivity

To check this: Go to command prompt and than type ipconfig and see you get the right ip address or no if yes than

Try to ping website like in the command prompt type ping www.yahoo.com

if you are able to ping the websites that means you are connected to the internet and it's just a browser issue for that the best solution would be System restore which will remove the service pack 3 from the system and can fix the issue.
if you are not connected the the interenet than you ca try resetin your router iff need any clarification tha let me know.

I am assuming you understand about reseting router, ipconfig and all that.

HP 7280 printer/internet access

It's just the printer she cannot access? Is she able to ping the printer? or possibly, connect to the printer via your computer? You can also try adding the printer manually. It's share name can be found either via your own computer (in the printer properties), or via the printers web interface (192.168.x.x). To do so, click Start > Printers and Faxes > Add Printer Select "Local printer attached to this computer". Click Next and select "Create new port", then from the dropdown list, select "Standard TCP/IP Port" and click Next. Click Next on the dialog that appears, then enter the printers IP address, and a port name for it (for example for my own I entered "192.168.0.100" as that is my printers IP address, and "IP_192.168.0.100" for the port name (Windows enters this itself when you put in the IP address - you can change this to whatever you like)), and click Next. You will now see a dialog showing you the printer it is going to add. Click Next on this screen.

You mentioned it's disrupting internet access when turned on. Can you post the results of a ping and tracert (with it connected via ethernet and turned on)? To ping: 1. Start > Run and type: cmd 2. At the prompt, enter the following and press enter (after each line); cd c:\ ping google.co.uk >> ping.txt ping.txt The last line of the above, will open ping.txt in Notepad, for you to post here. To Tracert: 1. Click Start > Run and type: cmd 2. At the prompt, enter the following (again, press enter after each line) cd c:\ tracert google.co.uk >> tracert.txt tracert.txt The last line of the above, will open ping.txt in Notepad, for you to post here.
