Yes in the dos startup where it gives you computer settings
by hitting delete right at bootup before it goes into windows or f11 or f12 depending on manufacture the heat source is right on the bottom of laptop they make a carage for the laptop that props it up right this is a normal thing amongst laptops

Hi,
The weak point of ACER is overheating. I always plug in on usb port additional fan and place it right below the ACER to prevent overheating.

Hello, i have a acer aspire 5735 laptop and it overheats... i checked the vents and i cant see through it..... please help

Most of the time laptop overheats due to the accumulartion of dust on the vents.
You can clean it by blowing a can of compressed air into the vents and thus cleaning it.
Still if it continues to overheat- please elevate the laptop properly i.e work on it keeping it on a hard surface so that there is proper passage of air from the laptop.
Lastly make sure that the fan beneath is running properly i.e - you can hear the sound of the fan.
Hope this much will work.

Acer Aspire 7520, running windows Vista, keeps overheating and shutting down. It is fairly new - less than a year old. Does not run for much more than 20 minutes before shutting off. It was purchased in...

Sounds like there is dust where the cpu fan is and its blocking the ventilation path in the laptop. If you can take apart the laptop to expose the fan, I would make sure the fan is free of debris. Clogged CPU fans will cause the laptop to overheat cause the air has nowhere to go.

If you do that and the laptop is still overheating then the motherboard is going bad unless your not using the correct charger for it. If you use a charger that puts out more voltage then whats needed then that could cause the laptop to overheat so you might need a new charger.

Acer aspire 5315-2077 overheats which replacemnt fan do i need

download the service & parts manual for here: http://www.acer.co.uk/acer/service.do?LanguageISOCtxParam=en&ctx2.c2att1=17&CountryISOCtxParam=UK&ctx1g.c2att92=122&ctx1.att21k=1&CRC=1675815232

then you'll get the right one, but check the fan first.
because if it spins at all then it will just need cleaned
get a hoover to it or open it up & poke all the sh*@t out of grills then it will be able to breath again lol.
GOD LUCK

My acer aspire 5315 overheats constantly. i do not put it on my bed, i do not put it on my lap, i dont even rest it on the table in case it overheats straight away, i make sure theres plenty of air flow...

Try cleaning the air vents wit ha compressed air can. If no joy check for a BIOS update on with Acer. If all this does not help may be the sensors or the fans are failing and will need replacement.

Aspire 3624wxci gets very hot and slow seems to use 100% of cpu most of the time. What might cause this?

1) Many find cleaning the fan and the ducts help to cool their laptops.

2) They sell small table tables for laptops which has fans which provides extra cooling.

Here is a laptop overheating guide.

Overheating issue - looking for service manual

I had the same problem. And i believe my method has the fix.

On the bottom side of the laptop, unscrew the door to access the CPU Fan....(closest to the power supply)
Make sure the system is OFF and not plugged in or no battery in.

You will see 2 tabs on the copper heat sync that holds it down to the cpu.
Unscrew both the visible tabs.
Bend Both Tabs upward to where when you screw it back down there will be resistance.
What that will do is secure the heatsync to the die of the CPU.

replace the CPU door, and start her up.
Hope this helps ya'll
