Blue sceen ASUS 3 Motherboard - M4A88TD-M EVO

Hello, I am the technician that will be assisting you today. My name is Norman-Wynne Damstra.

Welcome to Fixya, Tracey Laidler.

Yes you are quite correct BSOD or Blue Screen Of Death is normally due to a memory fault. However drivers are as big a culprit, especially seeing as though you have changed memory modules and processor.

Install all the drivers for this mainboard.
Also enter the BIOS/CMOS by tapping the Delete key during first powering on the computer.
Once in the BIOS/CMOS select the option to load defaults.
Check if that works.

If not then take it a step further by clearing the BIOS/CMOS by removing the silver button cell from the mainboard for 10seconds before reinstalling it in the correct orientation.

Take care!

Computer starts but stays with a blue sreen with the intel logo

When computer freeze press tab button, and see if there is any reaction/ if yes there should be some information what is wrong. Disconnect hard drive and check if computer pass the blue screen with logo. I think that it will be hard drive. If there is any chance try to turn on pc from cd bootable linux, with disconnected hard drive

hi i have the solution to ur problem it's basically when ur windows file gets corrupted u will observe this sort of error message like what u have described a blue screen i recommend to install a fresh version of windows u can do this without losing any of ur critical data just follow these steps:
STEP 1:as soon as ur PC starts and u observe the logo on ur screen for e.x(INTEL,MERCURY) domething of this kind press F 8 immediately and u will see the next thing on ur screen is the PC asking to on ur system or load windows by providing some options select the option containing my msot recent settings that worked and ur windows will load surely without any blue screen error
STEP 2:as soon as ur windows will load try backing up ur critical data in a separate drive other than the drive containing ur windows files and folders and then install a fresh copy of windows or u can also repair ur previous windows using windows boot CD.
was this helpful to u if yes pls do rate my solution and thanks for visiting fixya.
NOTE: if the option u select do not work try other option specifying to load windows with all files and folders this will work sometimes but the above option works 99% perfect and if u face any problem just insert the windows boot CD and try repairing ur previous version of windows.
with warm regards-bonefirediv.

Hi i have a KT4V motherboard and recently got a radeon 9800 pro graphics card - and upgrade form a radeon 9250 (which worked fine on xp but when i upgraded to windows 7 it wasn't supported). when i first...

Yes and No. Let me explain. You have taken an older board that worked with XP and tried to make it work in Win7 (which is not supported by the board). Add in your graphics card switch, and you have a real mess.

You can upgrade your motherboard (for one that is compatible with Win7 - (ie. a brand new model with Win7 certification) and use a graphics card that is also Win7 compatible, or

Go back to a configuration that worked

Yes, you are right, It is possible that your motherboard cannot support Vista O.S.. Reinstalling Windows XP
O.S. will prove it. If XP works, you 100% right.

Reinstalled xp after major virus infection.. cant find propper bios driver. Windows start up and immediatly i get the blue screen of death! ;)

there is something to checkout for u. reinstall windows xp and do not install any driver just checkout that ur system is running properly or not. if yes then install one driver at a time and check the system that any blue screen appears or not. if any blue scrren appears then remove that driver and go for the latest version of that device driver. reinstall the xp from good media i.e it should contain all the reuired files and dont skip any files from installations.
