Put the laptop in sunlight and try to dry your laptop using hot air dryer so that internal moister can get removed and repeat it till atleast 2-3 days and till then do not turn on it and do not put it in charge.

Open up the laptop and pour dry rice on it for a few days, if that doesn't restore function your friend owes you a new laptop.

SOURCE: Acer Aspire 5315 Notebook will not power on

disconnect the battery from the laptop and only hook up the ac adaptor. Turn the laptop on and if it still cuts off after 5 seconds then reseat the memory back into its slots. Also make sure your air vents are not clogged with dirt or dust as lack or air flow can cause the laptop to shut off. If that doesn't do it then take out the hard drive and dvd drive and turn on the laptop. If the laptop still cuts off then it has to be a faulty motherboard at that point which means to much voltage is going thru and the components on the motherboard are not regulating it properly.

SOURCE: Acer 5570 - Power switch is not working

Hi,
Try removing the power supply (from the wall) and the battery pack. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Plug the mains power (from the wall) back in and then press the power button. It should work. Then you can replace your battery pack. Don't know why it works but it has worked for me in the past. Good luck!

SOURCE: I accidently spilt some liquid

This is a risky solution but worked for me.With the batteries removed turn the key board face down. get a spray bottle filled with warm water. Now you are practically going to wash the keyboard.Spray the affected area with the warm water spray, allowing the water to drip down as you spray.Satisfied with the cleaning let the key board to dry but still in the face down position.Allow ample time and warmth to dry. Fix your batteries and test.

How much would it cost to buy a new Acer Aspire 5315. I borrowed my friend's loptop and it was just stolen. I appreciate hearing from you! Thanks!

This model is no longer available. The last price I have seen is $488.00. For that price you can purchase an updated and faster unit. I purchased a comparable HP laptop for $488 @ my local Wal-mart.

Does my Acer Aspire 5315-2290 have a system recovery? I wanted to restore it to its orignal start up progarams only.

If you have an Acer utility menu in the program list and one of the options is to restore your computer, then you do have that option.
If you have a CD or DVD that came with the computer, you can use that to restore it.
Otherwise, the answer is n"no"
You can then just go in and delete all the unwanted programs until you end up with just the ones that came with the machine.

Acer 5315 Battery cHarging Problems

All rechargeable batteries have a limited life, and as they age their charge capacity reduces over time and you get shorter and shorter time between charges.
Recharage batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and batteries over 2 years old are considered nearly worn out. Worn out batteries won't charge up at all.

Used restore to another date, still locked in this process,

Hi Linda,

It sounds like the restore failed , try powering the PC off by holding the power button down for at least 5 seconds. Then reboot.

Hopefully that will let you back into Windows, if you continue to have problems , try the following.

Make sure you have your data backed up.

Turn on the computer and when you see the white Acer screen fully loaded, press and hold Alt+F10 to do the reboot.

This should start the recovery process from the recovery partition on your PC.

If that fails , you will need the recovery disks, unfortunately , acer does not provide them and expects you to make them by going to Acer eRecovery Management's "System backup to optical disc" feature to burn a backup image to CD or DVD.

Since you cant get into Windows , if you havent already made them , you need to order them from Acer.

Yes they make you pay for them.

You can order them here.

Good luck.
