Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. From the description you have provided these are the main reasons of the issue-

If lid switch is bad the washing machine doesn't spin or the motor coupler may be broken which is mounted to the shaft of the motor on one side, and to the transmission on the other. Over time, the coupler wears out and fails.

A belt may be broken or clutch may be worn. It may use a clutch to come up to the proper spin speed. As the clutch wears out, it may prevent the unit from spinning well or not at all.

The drive motor may be defective or the transmission may not be shifting properly.

The spin bearing or basket drive may be worn or seized. These components allow the inner tub to spin freely inside the outer tub.

Water inlet valve has gone bad.

Please make sure that the water supply hoses are not kinked or clogged and filter screens are clean. Please accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee

Looks like the motor is having a hard time starting. Try changing the motor capacitor, it jump starts the motor. It is cylindrical in shape aluminum color, sometimes black or may even be plastic white. Also, if it is not a direct drive, inspect the drive belt it could be worn out.

Check and see if there is a cup in the top of the agitator. Some machines have you put it there, turning back and forth during wash doesn't bother it, but the spin to empty the wash water causes the softener to go out through slots in the top of the cup and be held in the agitator. when it stops the softener drains into the tub, ready for the rinse cycle.

Won't pump out water for rinse cycle.this happened a couple months ago also, and a repair tech simply put a zip tie on a loose wire. I want to check that, but cannot get the control panel off so that I can...

there are four screws on the back panel that need to come off.then the controll top lifts and or slide forward a bit and it can be removed.
the first thing i would do is use a wet dry shop vac and try and remove the water from the washer.
this particular model washer should have a direct drive drain pump and it is not electrical.
if the washer just kinda humms when it goes into the drain cycle then there is something blocking the pump.there may also be a problem with your lid switch.

sounds as if you have a drain issue, most common cause of fault is theres something stuck in the pump housing. remove the lower acess panel(3 screws along the bottom of the forn of unit) youll gain acess to the pump housing, remove the large cover to the "button trap" by uncscrewimg the cover, it will be righthin front of you in the center of machine when cover removed, im sure youll find your blockage within there

Ok, that's a different scenario. Generally, when a washer is agitating and develops an overload that stalls or overheats the motor, the problem could be caused by:
1. Too many clothes for the amount of water level selected. If clothes don't have enough water to circulate in properly, it can put excess pressure on the agitator which transfers to the gearcase, drive belt, and finally the motor. The motor is thermally protected and stops running until it cools down, then it will try to restart. In the process the drive belt could burn slightly to completely,so you may want to inspect the drive belt for burned areas.
2. Transmission malfunction, where something inside the transmission breaks due to an overload and jams a gear. End results can be the same as above.
I suspect a clothes overload may have caused the problem and once the overload is alleviated, the washer should operate normlly if the belt didn't burn,
