Early / Late boost in dimplex storage heater

Hi, I don't understand how the early and late boost works on the storage heater. Someone told me I should turn the output switch off when I am at work during the day, then turn the output control up when I get home. But hardly any heat comes out!!! When should the early and late boost be used?

What times of day does 'early boost' and 'late boost' refer to? and should you lave the boost on the hottest setting, does it use up all the stored heat too quickly? - Thanks

I rent a house with a Dimplex night store heater. It has two dials. One is 'Room Temp Boost' and the other is 'Input'.

'Input' is obviously the level of heat, so I don't need any help with that.

'Room Temp Boost' ranges from 1-9 with a key stating that 1 = No Boost, 2 = Late Boost, and 9 = Early Boost.

How does the 1-9 dial relate to a time of the day?

The output setting if turned off isn't adjusting the temperature in the room automatically if its off,and by turning the output up is like turning up the heat.By turning the output switch on you can let the heater automatically control the heat.Still you need to monitor the adjustments to your liking and then you know how hot it will be when you come back into that room.

I can not update my mac to 10.9

Hard to say without knowing exactly what Mac you have and what specs, but most likely reason would be your system doesn't meet the requirements (From Apple support site) - To install Mavericks, you need one of these Macs:
  • iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
  • MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
  • MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later),
  • MacBook Pro (15-inch or 17-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or later)
  • MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
  • Mac mini (Early 2009 or later)
  • Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
  • Xserve (Early 2009)
Your Mac also needs:
  • OS X Mountain Lion, Lion, or Snow Leopard v10.6.8 already installed
  • 2 GB or more of memory
  • 8 GB or more of available space

What are the requirements to download Apple Mountain Lion OSX?

You must have the following computer to download Mountain Lion:

iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
Xserve (Early 2009)

Once that is done, you must be updated to the most recent version of either Snow Leopard or Lion. If you don't have either of these operating systems (which is highly unlikely considering the other computers should have them, but I digress) then you will need to get them before Mountain Lion.

After that, go to the Apple Store and download Mountain Lion!

My 625 unit (often not always) stops early and I miss the last min or so of the show. I have set all timers to 0 early and 0 late.

Hey jimmie love,

Just a quick clarification; does this only happen on certain shows? Some channels do run late.

You can always try setting the timer to end 2-3 minutes late and see if that works. Let me know here if you have any information or if you have any questions.

Output switch is the one that says Cool-Off-Heat. Turn this offwhen you aren't home.
Output control is the thermostat. If you want to heat the room turn up the thermostat to the desired heat after putting the output switch on heat. It will take a few minutes for the heater to get hot. Early boost would be if you want immediate higher blower speed to speed up keep the heated air from being too hot and late boost will hold off the fan until the heater is higher in temp and the air temp discharged will be hotter.

it does not relate to the time of day it relates to the temp in the room
as you know most heaters do not run continuously, they cycle on ambiant temp.
the boost setting is actually tweeaking that cycle,
you are actually setting the vairence in the temp setting
each modle is slightly differant but

here is an example

9 late boost, might let the temp differential drop as low as 25 degrees
1 early boost might only allow a 2 degree differential

Dimplex night storer, how does it work?

Are you setting the input to maximum and the boost to late? You do not say what size the heater is in either kilowatts or kilowatt hours eg 2kW or 18kWh. These heaters will tend run out of stored heat in the evening especially in colder weather.
