I am having a similar problem, you may want to contact Target again. I found this website with their info : http://ebenterprice.en.ecplaza.net/1/product.asp
I bought a convertible crib about 2 years ago from them, and didn't worry about the fact that it didn't come with the parts to convert it, figuring I would buy it later. Well now Target no longer carries their product. If it helps when you call target back, my item # listed on my crib is 030-09-1601. The rep I spoke to said she was going to get in touch with the rep for that company about the parts that I needed. Hope this helps!

It is possible that the paint used on the crib did infact contain lead. "Lead" paint was deemed unsafe and banned from use in 1978. Best way to check this is to go to your local hardware store and request a lead test kit. Follow the instructions as each test can be different. As of now, i do not see any details regarding recall for this model.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
