I have a bravos mtw6700tq1 that is getting louder and louder during spin cycle. It is like a bearing noise. I can spin the drum when the washer is off and can hear the same noise when i move the drum a little . Of course it is louder during spin cycle. I am handy and can fix most anything, but having trouble pin pointing what part to change. Joe

Check first whether the noise is coming from the motor assembly or not. The rotor may scrape the stator and create such noise. Remove the rotor then spin the drum and check the noise. Also check the rotor and the stator for any sign of scraping.

The noise is coming from the worn tub bearing if the noise is not altered by the removal of the rotor. The bad news is that the bearing comes as an assembly with the tub including the drive shaft. This requires the replacement of the complete tub assembly, a bit expensive repair.

The spin bearing. That is making the noise.the bearing is part of the rear outer tub housing and entire machine must be torn down in order to replace it; tub assembly is very heavy and is suspended by springs and shocks, besides that if it is reassembled improperly it will leak and then you would have to repeat the tear down again. But if tub bearing checked ok then is motor baring that is faulty. Try running the motor with the belt off the washer. Then see if still the noise then its motor spin bearing that is faulty. he spin bearing or basket drive may be worn or seized. These components allow the inner tub to spin freely inside the outer tub. When this is the problem, you usually hear a loud sound during the spin cycle.Replace the faulty.

My washer has recently started thumping and banging during the spin cycle. I thought it was uneven weight distribution, but it does it every spin now. And when the spinning slows down it has started...

Hi, . according to your washer problem i m writing solution ,please read and follow it:-
  1. Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.
  2. check out this following options one by one to locate the fault in your machine.
  3. 1)Check for drum bearing failure if your washing machine is noisy on the spin cycle. Drum bearing failure is common when the bearing seals start allowing water to enter. You can take the belt off and spin the drum by hand, and if the drum rumbles, replace the bearings.2)Turn the drum by hand and listen for loud noises. If the drum itself is split or the 'spider' is corroded, broken or has come apart from the back of the drum it will create a loud noise on every turn of the drum. (When the bearings have gone bad, the noise is constant the entire time the drum is spinning.)3)Look for obvious dents and creases in the drum or look for coins or small objects stuck inside the tub underneath the drum when a horrendous noise is made while clothes are in the tub.4)Clear thewater pumpfrom obstructions like coins or small objects when a noise occurs while the washing machine is emptying water.5)Remove the sump hose and look for bra wires if you hear a light scraping noise when the drum is turned by hand. You can also check to make sure a wire isn't poking out of one of the holes in the drum. In this case, you can pull the wire out easily with pliers.6)Take the belt off and run the motor alone if you hear a high pitched squealing noise to check for motor bearing damage or wear. If you still hear the noise without the belt, it's the motor bearing.

  6. I hope this will help.

My kenmore front loading washer is screeching during spin cycle and seems to be spinning poorly at times. what is going on?

The wash drum should spin smoothly by hand without much noise. It is supported with two sets of ball bearings. If the water seal fails, water starts to leak into the inner bearing and they start to rust causing a loud noise especially during the spin cycle. The only way to fix it is to replace the bearings and seal. It a big and expensive job to replace the bearings since you literally need to take your washer apart to get to the bearings. Sorry.

Clothes washer vibration during spin cycles

the vibration and noise is most likely from the drum bearings wearing out to test the bearings try this out,,,
open the door, hold the top of the drum and lift it up, if it has any free lift in it the bearings are going, now spin the drum by hand and you should here the rumble off the bearings

Neptune washer makes horrible noise - now won't drain

Does the washer make noise while the drum is spinning? Or, is making noise when the drain pump comes on? If the drum is spinning and making a lot of noise the rear bearings are usually bad. They cannot be removed from the drum, however. The entire outer tub shell has to be replaced, because the bearings are molded into the plastic. If it's only making noise when the drain pump comes on during the drain cycle, your drain pump may be obstructed in some way, or the pump itself could be bad. Getting inside the machine to check either component is not easy, because the door has to be removed, along with the front panel, rubber door seal, and top of the machine. Sorry, this may not be an easy fix for you. But, I hope I can lead you in the right direction. Let me know if you need further guidance.
