Question about HP Pavilion dv1000 Notebook

1 Answer

HP dv1000 start up and Workgroups visibility problems

1. On start up the notebook sometimes gives the message "windows default profile is being loaded, your personal profile cannot be loaded due to insufficient systems resources". If I again restart, sometimes my personal profile will be loaded OK, but it is intermittent? I am running Win XP Home with all the service packs (this came pre-loaded with the notebook) and run Trend Internet Security Pro, so I don't suspect a virus or other such issues on the machine. I have however recently upgraded to Win IE7 and don't recall I had this problem prior.

2. Also on this laptop, I cannot "view" any other PC's on our local network, when I try to "view my workgroup computers" from "my network places". Might be un-related, but this started happening around the same time as WinIE7 upgrade.

Would like to remain with IE, but could go back to ver 6 if you think this is causing these issues; no real reason to have upgraded to IE7 except it was "out there"!.........

Despite the earlier solution (to remove IE7) seemingly making the resource issue better(though this still happens on rare occasions), can anyone tell me why I still cannot "see" any other computers via "view my Workgroups" function. All other machines on my LAN can bee "seen" by each other, but my laptop cannot find anything.......??.it's a wireless LAN by the way!

I have heard of IE7 causing some problems with resource hogging - if you don't absolutely need it, the best thing to try is to uninstall IE7 and see if that fixes the problem. If it doesn't, leave another comment on this ticket and we can try something else.

No audio device installed.

It's unlikly that HP will relesae he needed Vista drivers for your sound device.
That has been a problem with Vista since day 1.
If you want your sound back, you should go back to XP.
Windows Vista use a new software architecture, and hardware devices must comply with it, in order to be used by the new OS.
Sorry

HP Pavilion dv1000 PC Notebook Audio Problem

There are two different audio cards shipped with Pavilion DV1000 series Notebooks.

If your Notebooks belong to DV1600 series, your Notebook should have been shipped with Conexant High Definition Audio card.

This can be one of the reason why you are unable to install the Conexant AC Link audio drivers in your Notebooks.

You need to install Microsoft UAA Drivers first before installing the Conexant High Definition Audio Drivers in the Notebook.

Download the Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture(UAA) Drivers for your Notebook from the HP link below :

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32501-33000/sp32646.exe

Please save the file in the Notebook and double click it after the download completes to install the drivers. Restart the Computer once the installation of the Microsoft UAA Drivers is completed.

Now download the Conexant High Definition audio drivers from the link below :

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32501-33000/sp32864.exe

Save the file and double click on it once it is saved to install the Drivers.

This should solve the issue with audio in your Notebooks.

Hope this helps...

Requesting hp pavilion dv1000 audio drivers

I have had this problem for a while, and I solved it by learning exactly how to search the HP driver listings correctly. The issue stems from the fact that searching for "HP Pavilion dv1000" is not as specific as you might think...

Step one:
Go Here
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&dest_page=product&docname=c00033108&product=18073
Find the *EXACT* model number of your laptop. For instance, it turns out my "HP Pavilion dv1000" is actually a "dv1657cl." Alternately, you can take down the Product Number (or p/n).

Step two:
Go Here
http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html
I am sure we are all familiar with this page, but you will find that it is a little more helpful now that we are armed with the knowledge that it requires. Search on this page with your model number or p/n and you should find the correct drivers (for audio as well as other devices) easily.

For example, I finally found this page for my "dv1657cl."
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=2511500

Good luck, everyone!

Three errors recently occuring, causing som problems

Try to remove that on the boot.ini on your system.
You can do that by following this.

1.Click Start>Run>type "msconfig" (without the "") then press enter, On the new window that will comes up that is the msconfig window.
2. uncheck the EABServ.exe on the startup or on the boot.ini. then click apply and restart. I'm not sure if the EABServ.exe is a virus or a malicious file that is not recognize by your antivirus but I know its not a microsoft application.
