Hello

Plug in your printer to your computer whether it uses parallel, serial or usb port

Find the driver from the provided cdrom supplied by your printer manufacturer, if it's not found, you can locate on from the manufacturer's website

Turn on your printer, and if you use windows xp, it will pop-up a new add hardware wizard

First, you can try to have windows configure your printer manually, if not found, locate the driver for your printer or wherever you save the driver on.

Brother mfc 9320cw won't print on my computer but will on my other computer. When is hit print it shows up in the icon but does not give status. We just changed from comcast to qwest.

I had this same issue with my Minolta Magicolor when I disconnected the USB cord. Somehow it messed up the printer sequence in XP. My only solution was to uninstall the drivers and the printer and then reinstall them (drivers first, then printer). That's kind of a catch-all for peripheral issues but it did work with a similar issue. Hope that helps.

I somehow uninstalled the Dell Imaging Toolbox for my V305 printer. How do I get it back?

Hi,

I cannot find a separate software download for the Imaging Toolbox. I can only assume it comes with the driver itself when installed.

If you have the disk for the printer, uninstall the printer software you have already installed using the Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel. Restart your computer and look under the Start>Printers and Faxes and make sure it is not listed.

disconnect the USB cable from either the computer or printer and insert your disk and install as you did originally. Connect the USB cable when prompted. This should reinstall the driver and Imaging Toolbox.

If you do not have the disk, you can download the software from the Dell website at:

Dell V305/305w Driver

Download the software to your desktop. Uninstall the previous software...reboot...then double-click the file on your desktop.

Hope this helps. If you have further questions, just use the Comment link.

Thanks for using Fixya.

My 7410 All-in-1 suddenly won't print wirelessly. All attempts to re-input info, such as IP Address & WEP Key are futile as each time I input one or the other and then go to the other, the first number...

Hi tonilwolf;

I have the same one and it's great (when it works) A similiar thing happened to me after we lost power, and after attempting all the standard suggestions, I finally took my laptop over to it, hooked up via the usb and reinstalled the software. That did the trick. Once it reinstalled, the computer recongized the printer, and the printer recongnized the router via my laptop. I'm not sure why it did that, but somehow I think the IP address program on the printer got messed up, and by reinstalling it on the computer somehow helped. At least it's worth a try.

Good Luck

In the printer default screen we somehow clicked the wrong language and it is french...can you help us get it back to english?

Normal 0 You have to reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. During installation you will be asked what language and then select ENGLISH. Then follow the instructions.
But first do this.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

HP L7680 All in one will not send faxes from PC S/W interface

After much thrashing, here is the solution to the problem. Somehow the printer drivers lost coordination with the corresponding Windows supporting programs. You would think that reinstalling the printer drivers would fix the problem, AND IT DOES, but there are 3 tricks:

· Uninstall everything associated with this printer with the install disk in the computer (this may really not be necessary, but it worked for me). [This is also the solution when the a window comes up asking for TrayApp to be inserted using a disk—they mean the hp install disk].

· After the un-install, MAKE SURE you ALSO delete the printer using the control panel. This is critical. If this doesn’t happen, the corresponding Windows software is somehow hooked to the wrong thing when the reinstall happens. Then reboot the system.

· Install the new drivers with the printer off, and the USB disconnected from the printer. Reboot the system [not sure the reboot is necessary]. After the computer has booted, connect the USB, and power up the printer. The computer will recognize the printer and put the printer icon in the Control Panel.

It turns out that correcting the driver mis-coordination by BOTH uninstalling the printer drivers and taking the printer out of the control panel, then properly reinstalling solves BOTH the fax problem, and the protection fault problem! Amazing such a little thing can make such a difference!

Computer won't recognize printer

We know it isn't the printer or the USB cable. We know it isn't the software. You are running Windows XP on both the desktop and laptop, correct? On your desktop, you go to 'Start''Settings''Printers' and is the printer there ?? Try this; go to 'Start' 'Settings''Control Panel'. Double click the 'System' icon. Click on tab 'Hardware', click on 'Device Manager'. Do you see a yellow (!) on any Universal Serial Bus Controller. If not, were good. Check all USB ports with a USB mouse or device to make sure they're active.
