Thank You for your response, I made a mistake when I posted the problem. My unit is actually a WTW6400SW, and it gives the "OL" at the end of each cycle.

I dont know if this makes a difference.

Would you have a part number for the spring kit that I need to fix the problem?

ALSO just today I am Getting an "F1" fault.

I read that it could be an issue with the air system???

Do you have instructions on how to check this?

    Thank You

Hi,

The problem is with the suspension springs which weaken over time. The rods and springs are easy to replace once you hinge the machines top up and back. You won't believe the "springy" difference, or lack thereof, between the old "sprung" springs and the new ones. Additionally, the new set includes plastic cups, in lieu of grease, which go on top of the frame to cradle the new rod caps.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

    Thanks for your response!!

Yes, the solution would remain the same for all Whirlpool washer's.

F1 means the main controller has failed. The cost of the part is around $175.00 from Sears BUT, many revisions of this
machine were recalled due to this problem so you may be able to get the
board for free. Please call Whirlpool first and give them your serial
number to see if your machine is covered under the recall. If not, they
still MAY send you the board for free and you can install it yourself.
Its very easy and I can help with that if it comes to you having to fix
it yourself. unfortunately, there is no other fix for this. You can try
unplugging but you already did that so you will need to replace this
    board.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

    Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

1 Answer

The washer stops half way through all cycles and displays "oL" .

Error oL means overload.
If the "oL" error code appears, the washer has been filled with a load that is too large for its capacity, causing it to drain.

*Remove some items from the washer and add more detergent since the previous amount will have drained with the water.
*Close the washer and press the START/PAUSE/Cancel button to remove error displayed and restart the cycle.

If Pause/Cancel does not work:

*Unplug washer or disconnect power for one minute.
*Plug in washer or reconnect power.
*Re-select the cycle and press Start.

NOTE: If the error remains on the display, and the condition above has been checked, call for service.

Hope this helps.. :)
