My tw-700 warning light was flashing red (1sec) and this is what I did to fix it.

Take the top cover of the projector, you will see the PCB on top of everything.
Remove the PCB, be careful when disconnecting the ribbon cables.
Looking from the rear of the projector, you will see a metal bar held on by
2 black screws just in front of the lamp. remove this bar which is holding in a
small plastic door that has glass in the middle.
Remove this plastic door and lubricate the bottom of it with some high temp
grease. now put it all back together and with a bit of luck and if you plugged
everything back in properly, it should work.

This worked for my red light problem anyway, hope it helps you.

I had the same fault - new lamp but got red light and fan running at high speed most of the time. However if I tried enough times the projector would eventually work. Upon further investigation I found that the fault was related to the above mentioned sliding filter assembly located between the light box and the LCD assembly - However it was not that the sliding filter was sticky but that the motor/gearbox assembly that drives it was faulty. You can see a small black motor towards the front/center of the projector that drives the sliding lens. The motor drives a small black gearbox that in turn drives the slider. The gearbox is where the fault is - you need to remove the LCD assembly and lamp cover in one piece (about 8 black screws from memory) and then you can remove the small black motor/gearbox assembly (2 screws). With mine I found I could simply pull the output shaft of the gearbox out with very little force. This is because the shaft should be firmly bonded to a gear inside the gearbox, but becomes loose. The causes the drive gear to slip on the shaft and hence it doesn't have enough torque to move the sliding lens. You need to take the gearbox apart and re-glue the gear to the shaft. Another way to check for this fault is to unplug the motor from the main PCB (2 pin red and black wires) and run the motor from and external ~5V power supply. You will hear the motor running but the gearbox output shaft / gear will not be turning. Hope that helps! Cheers.

I just fixed this issue as well. Not entirely sure what was wrong but removal and careful reassembly of the optical filter completely fixed the issue. Very detailed description here:

My Epson TW 700 suddenly went black, and the fan startet to go very fast.I could also see the red light ( temp. Indicator? ) coming on.Tried to cut the power, cleaned the filter and start it again, but...

Don't cut power to a projector when you power down. The fan has to run after the projector is powered down so that the lamp can cool evenly. If you unplug or if there is a power failure the lamp will develop cracks around the edges of the reflector and will fail quickly. If the fan is not moving air through the projector, it will overheat and shut down.

The lamp does not work and the projector is noisy and shuts down with the red lamp light flashing

I fixed this by applying a little bit of high temp grease to the bottom of the sliding door that is directly in front of the lens.
It as located under the PCB inside the unit.
Mine felt tough to move, then after the grease, it was much easier to slide.
After I put it all back together, no more red light.

My epson projector shows a non growing yellow tinge in the centre of the image. The projector is about 4 years old. EMP-TW700. I am a fairly heavy user.

Hi,
From my experience, the projector bulb has most likely received a blemish of some kind from something such as accumulated dust on the front, to a fingerprint from where it has been handled by someone replacing it.
This yellow tinge then occurs when the blemish is burned onto the surface of the bulb.
In my opinion, unfortunately, you may need to get a new bulb.
Hope this helps!

My epson emp-50, gets off after ev.5 mins. says NO SIGNALS. but audio comes....pl.help

check for the error indicator in the projector, if the bulb light is flashing red, then i think you need to clean the units ventilation fan, if cleaning doesnt solve the problem, you have to replace the bulb.
