Could be a leak on the pilot line or pilot or the gas valve you can check with soapy water if it bubbles it leaks or call in a gas fitter if you feel safer

I have a 25,000BTU Enerco IR garage heater that is about 12 years old pilot light does not stay completely lite it makes noise and smells like gas

When was the last time you cleaned and serviced the heater? From what you described, it sounds like the pilot is clogged, as well as the burner. That's why it's making noise and smells like gas. Not all the gas is being consumed.

Hello. When our Rinnai direct vent wall heater lights on it smells of gas. I do not recall smelling this before. It is a sweet smell not a sulfur smell. The filter is clean.

If it's a sweet smell. it's not gas. Gas smells like rotten eggs. There may be something inside the heater that's causing this odor. Remove the cover of the heater and look for some foreign that shouldn't be there. Perhaps, a dead mouse.

Smells like fuel no error code, burner light flashes

Turn off the gas valve! Perhaps your pilot light isn't lit, or there is some other seepage.

Regardless, if you smell gas TURN OFF THE VALVE, or if it is leaking and you cannot stop it it is VERY dangerous and you may have to call the fire department. Be careful and act FAST!!

Car has gas smell when heater is on

my question is do you smell gas when outside the vehicle? chances are it is pulling "fresh air" from outside the vehicle and might be pulling vapors due to thew fact you have a gas leak under the hood. check your engine while running and if a gas leak is seen. turn it off imediately and repair it. do not drive it until then. happy holidays

Where is the pilot light on Rinnai EnergySaver 1001F

If you smell gas in a Rinnai you have a big issue. This heater is what is called a direct vent heater with an electronic ignition so the combustion chamber is sealed and the smell of gas is an indication that you have a gas leak. Please call a professional today.

We just replaced the propane gas line. Our stove is gas and it lights, but neither of our gas water heaters will light. Both water heaters are new and have been working for about 4 months before the...

You have to purge the air from the lines.
At the water heater, take a wrench and loosen the gas line until you smell gas coming from the line. Then tighten the gas line. Check it for leaks with a soapy water solution. Let the gas smell clear, then light the pilot on the heater.
