Could not down load photos from camera - Cameras

    What make and model camera?

In general the best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Time to start using a separate card reader instead of the camera.

Make sure that the memory card is not locked. If you are trying to download directly from a USB cord to your computer make sure that you have the proper drivers

Date display after down load, DSC-S650 Sony camera

you will not see the date and time on the thumbnail. look at the photo in full screen. make sure part of the photo is not "cropped" by checking to see if the arrows appear at the bottom and right. I bet the date & time is there, you are not seeing it.

digital camera + "dont have the orignal softwear that came with the camera." = another solution. Try an USB memory card reader if you can't find replace software or CD's from the camera's maker.
