Question about Audio Players & Recorders
The first thing you want to do is to make sure you have iTunes installed. This works even if your PC is not the primary PC for syncing your iPod.
To unlock your iPod screen first plug in your iPod and go to: My Computer. Look for the your iPod device and click on it. The next thing you want to do is to look for the hidden file named: _locked. You can do two things: rename this folder, or just delete the file. (I recommend renaming it)
Eject your iPod safely and you are all set! All your music, photos, and video on your iPod will stay intact. I suggest you go to your iPod combination now and change it to something you will always remember. I hope this helped!

SOURCE: ipod lock code
If you can't remember your lock code on your Nano, you will have to restore the Nano via iTunes, there is no other way around this, as there is no way to recover your lock code.
Restoring your Nano will erase everything on the player, and restore it to factory defaults, after this is done you can restore all your files and settings to your Nano.
Here is instructions on resoring your Nano in case you aren't sure how.

You have to restore it. Plug it into your computer and under the devices tab click your ipod and click the restore button under the summary tab. This unfortunetly will wipe your ipod clean but if you've synced it recently there will be a backup saved. After its finished being restored sync it and itunes will ask if you wanna use your backup. click yes and everything will be the same as it was before you forgot your passcode.
Hope this helped!
