SOURCE: Headphone jack broke off inside
yes, you could easily open the computer and physically remove the wires from the mother board for the front audio jack. These are pin headers. Most all the time they are labeled.
The rear audio should already be working from the green jack. If not, then perhaps you have the RealTek Audio chipset and software. The realtek audio software generally has a orange speaker icon in the system tray. You can double click to open it, go to the Audio I/O tab and then click the little wrench icon. It will open the connector setting. On the connector settings screen is a checkbox. Disable front panel jack detection. Uncheck that, also a check box for Mute rear panel output when fron headphone plugged in, UNCHECK this. That should do it.
If you want to try further to remove the broken jack make sure the machine is off, use a very tiny needle nose pliers (electronic type) you should be able to pull it out.
What kind of computer do you have? You could also possibly remove the jack assembly from the inside, so you can get a better view for the extraction of the plug.

SOURCE: humbucker not sounding
If you have a volt ohm meter, try unsoldering one lead from the pickup in question making careful note of where it was unsoldered from. Use one probe on the other wire or wire that aren't unsoldered from that pickup. Use the other probe on the end of the wire you unsoldered with the volt/ohm meter set to a setting which can cope with between 3 and 14 k. Generally the resistance will read between 3k and 14k. A shorted pickup will read considerably less but there will still be a reading. If your pickup is dead there are 2 possibilities. One is that a winding in the pickup is burnes out or broken and you will get no reading with the resistance test. The other which is rare but not impossible is that the magnet in the pickup has lost its flux which means that you could have weak to no sound. There are other possibilities such as your pickup being adjusted to low to sense the strings. If none of this helps if you can, try www.seymourduncan.com.There are wiring diagrams and lots of good info on this site.

it sound like you did the right thing . The problem is the mac output for sound is bad or the TV input sound is bad.
try input a mp3 radio to the TV verify TV is working.
put an earphone to the mac to verify the mac out sound is working .
if both are working just tool around a little and you will get it. good luck
