I re-tuned my TV (Samsung) on 03/09/14 as suggested by the pop-up message. i have now lost channels that are not listed as changing - namely Channel 24 (ITV4) and all the HD channels. i have tried the

You need to do a Full Factory Reset tuning rather than just a rescan.

Rescan simply looks at the place holders where the old channels were stored and refreshes them. A Factory Reset (A.K.A. Shipping Condition) wipes the channel memories and starts again fresh.

Recently i replaced eeproms in lcd's la40r81bd & la40n81bd, i can get into service mode but do not have the data to set it up correctly. can you help with correct data, thanks in anticipation.

Out of curiosity why did you replace the eeproms?

In my opinion only good solution to the problem would be to get an image from a working eeprom and burn it in the replacement.

Manually setting up data sucks.

Have lost channels on samsung tv, cannot rectify problem through re tuning and re scanning. what can I do next?

Hi I have litterally just had the same problem, it all started to go wrong after the channel five re-tune fiasco. it is only on one TV in my house though. Like you I tried everything, and depending on the weather and time of day etc, made a difference to how many, and which channel it would find on re-tuning. In the end I gave up, found an old signal booster from way back, stuck that on, and Bingo, all channels all the time now! hope you have the same fortune as me!

Samsung tv problem

You havent listed your TV model but most Samsung sets that are digital will have A button on the remote marked DTV this will tell set to look at the digital chans.
Now try & go in to the menu & select tuning & scan the digital chans in.
One other thing are you in an area of the UK that can pick up digital channels without changing your aerial.
