Hello Amichai

Is this really every single time you restart the camera or only if you removed the battery when the camera was off?

Kind Regards

The problem with a lot of digital camera's including my Kodak z712IS and your Casio EXS770 is that they don't have a internal battery to store the time and date like on a computer.

My camera resets as soon as I remove the battery but your camera actually uses a capacitor to store a small charge which should be able to store the time for at least a few hours.

It is however normal for your camera to loose it's time and date settings if the battery is removed and this cannot be remedied unfortunately.

Please feel free to ask if you need more info.

    Kind Regards

This is definitely not a software problem.

The fact that this happens every single time indicates that the capacitor that stores the small charge to save the date and time has probably failed. The problem could also be with the small flash disk in the camera on which this info is stored.

Neither one of these two are really cheap things to repair at about $50 min for each so the best advice I can possibly provide is just to live with it unfortunately.

    Kind Regards

I have a kodak easy share M1073 and cannot figure out how to reset the date. I can turn the date stamp on and off but that's the only option I have.

It's important to set the date and time so that pictures and videos are organized by the date taken. The date and time procedure varies slightly between camera models, but generally:
  1. Turn on the camera.
  2. Press the Menu button.
If you see a Setup tab, press the Right arrow button to highlight the Setup tab. If you don't see a Setup tab, press the Down arrow button to select Setup, then press the OK button.
  3. Press the Down arrow button to choose Date and Time (or similar), then press the OK button.
  4. Press the Right/Left arrow buttons to move between year, month, and date. Press (or press and hold) the Up/Down arrow buttons to scroll through the year, month, and date.
Use the same procedure to set the time.
  5. When finished, press the OK button.
NOTE: If your KODAK Camera has a touchscreen, the same principles apply. Tap the Menu icon, Setup, then Date and Time (or similar).

When I print photos, it doesn't show the date on the photo. Also , when I scroll down to Date/Stamp on the menu, it is always "off". And I can't change the setting. Help

You haven't said what make/model your camera is, so it is hard to advise.

Without knowing the camera, I am guessing that you may be in the wrong mode when trying to change this setting. You won't be able to change it while reviewing pictures already taken. You can only change it for pictures to be taken subsequently. Once pictures are taken, you won't be able to add the date stamp, nor remove it if it has been stamped.

It may be that it won't allow you to set this if you haven't already set the date and time in your camera. I can't see why this setting would be shown at all if it was not possible to turn it on (i.e. if your camera did not have this feature).

Cannot set the Time/Date

Setting the Date and Time The date/time needs to be set if/when: Camera is turned on for the first time. Camera is turned on after leaving ViviCam X60 without the battery for an extended period of time. When the date and time information is not displayed on the LCD monitor, follow these steps to set the correct date and time. 1. Slide the mode switch to [replay ], and press the MENU button. 2. Select [Setup2] with the LEFT ARROW button. 3. Select [Date/Time] with the UP ARROW / DOWN ARROW buttons, and press the SET button. The Date/Time setting screen will be displayed:[Setup] [Format], [On/Off]. 4. Select [Setup] with UP ARROW / DOWN ARROW buttons, and press the SET button. Select the item’s field with theLEFT ARROW / RIGHT ARROW buttons and adjust the value for the date and time with the UP ARROW / DOWN ARROW buttons. The date and time is displayed as the format you set. The time is displayed in 24-hour format. After confirming all settings are correct, press the SET button. The setting will be stored and the screen will return to the Setup2 menu.

Casio Exilim Z57 Date and Language set up

OK, here's the fix. This camera has internal flash memory that is used to store settings and can be used for limited picture storage. Its use for saving setting is essential, however. If this gets corrupted then the camera won't save settings. Whoever said to format the internal memory had the right idea.

After much experimentation here's how. Remove your SD memory from the camera and turn it on. This will force it to run on the internal memory only. Run through the time/date/location setup again. It will complain about the memory card. Ignore this and press menu. Under Setup, select format. Choose format memory card and do it. This will format the internal memory. Once it is done, turn the camera off and back on. You'll notice that the problem is gone and it has remembered your last setup.
BTW, my camera is a EX-Z75. Not sure there is a Z57 model.
