Washer wont fill up during rinse cycle

all rinse cycles are filled with cold water to keep the clothes from wrinkling.set up the washer to run with just cold water.start it,if no water comes into washer, shut down your house water valve that fills the washer, take off the cold water hose, stick it in the washer or if there's a sink or where ever and turn on the water,if water comes out of the hose then you need a new water valve on the washer

When the water has reached it's proper level, the hot water turns off, but the cold water keeps filling until the water overflows the basket

Try this. With the wash tub empty, start to fill with water. Without turning washer off, unplug the washer from wall.

If water filling stops (hot and cold), then you are looking at a bad timer assembly. Replacement isn't that hard, parts can be difficult to find though.

If water continues to fill, your valve body / solenoid assembly is likely full of lime-scale. Easily replaced.

Washer is agitating and not filling with water when i first turn on

First make sure your water is turned on and the hoses to the washer aren't kinked.  You may want to remove the hoses to see if water is coming through as some hoses have little screens in them.  The water control valves have electrically operated solenoids that open and close the valves.  These are controlled by the timer.  These are probably bad.  Also check the water level switch if this is bad it may keep the washer from filling.   Good luck

Do me a favor turn the washer to fill, with the washer still running unplug from the wall. If the water is still entering the unit you have a bad inlet valve

Washer constantly fills with hot water even when turned off.

Sounds like a bad mixing valve. To verify that it is the valve you need to turn off the washer when it is filling. If water keeps running, replace the valve, Cost is under $50. for most washers.
