Question about LG 42LC7D-UB Television

1 Answer

My tv is getting on my nerves! it has clouding/blotchiness in dark scenes and it mixes up/ looses chanels, what can i do?

Ok , i have an lg 42lc7c lcd tv and it has some annoying problems. the tv looks great and all but only in bright scenes. once the tv goes black or into dark scenes, some very annoying clouding/ blotchiness starts becoming visible. when the tv is isnt displaying any content you could clearly see that there is a whole bunch lighter spots troughout the tv . then at certain angles you start seeing this anoying blue/purplish haze on the lower corners of the tv that dont exactly help either. in addition to those annoying problems my tv seems to loose/ mix up certain channels. for example: im seeing channel 40-1 and i change it during commercialsto see something else . i then change it back to see if the show is back to only find out that the singnal is missing . a few minutes later as im channel surfing i come across channel 55-3 or some other channel that usually is a blank to only find out that the channel i was missing was under the wrong channel number .

does anyone think these issues could be fixed or if they seem good enough reasons for best buy to exchange my tv? i have a protection service plan for 4 years and it hasnt even been a year since i purchased it ! the only worries i have is that the tv seems to have been put out of production and i dont want to get a refurbished one due to all the problems ive heard from alot of other people with the same tv . does anyone think best buy would be to hesitant about offering me a gift card instead of a refurbished tv ?

i dont know if this is the right place for this topic but i would greatly aprecciate any comments

TRY AUTO PROGRRAMMING AL YOUR CHANNELS AGAIN. IF THIS DOES NOT FIX IT YOU NEED A MAIN TOTAL ASSY THE BLOTCHINESS IS A LCD PANEL PROBLEM. THE PANEL NEEDS REPLACING.

It sounds like a loose contact to your T-con panel. Before the problem happened, had you recently moved your TV? A picture would help my friend also if you have the model number.

I just bought a LG 55LX6500 TV, but I found when in dark scene or no signal, the screen showing very uneven darkness, espcially the 4 corners, the most the upper left corner a lot lighter than the rest...

it may be a problem with the backlight system.the leds use a edgelit led backlight instead of placing them directly behind the lcd panel. i suggest if it is very new take it back to the store otherwise you will need to call service technician LG should be able to give you contact info for authorized servicers in your area.

Having problems with Dark Cloud 2.

Hello,

If your PS2 is horizontal, i suggest you put it in vertical position, if yet, it is not playing your dark cloud 2, it means your PS2 could be an old version that can not read the dark cloud 2 game because it is possible that the dark cloud 2 has come with a higher version that your PS2 could not read.

You might need to upgrade your PS2 to an higher version that will be able to read all the new version of the game.

Take care.

Big white blur, cloud like, Center of LCD TV

I have seen similar effects like this & it is usually due to a flaw in the screen. A replacement screen is the only cure.

Sorry, I haven't been on here for a while.
I haven't found the cause. I find that leaving it switched on overnight cures it.

Blotchy picture

I get this too with my Samsung. Are you watching HD content or standard (cable, satellite) tv? If it's the latter, that's why. The lack of quality really shows on analog signals. The shows that I Tivo look horrible a lot of times. Another thing is the connection to the television. If you are using standard RCA connectors, try switching to either component or HDMI.

Hope this helps.
