Question about Toshiba Satellite A215-S7407 Notebook
Owing to age of laptop, I would not try the change over to LED, unless you have a compatible graphics lead/connection.
You can upgrade to 2x2gb ram (4gb total)
You could try a small wireless dongle like this
Batteries on these older laptops would be good for up to two hours when new- so I don't think you will do much better unless you can find an upgraded battery like this 9 cell battery, instead of the usual 6-cell one
As for the processor, again, the motherboard determines what can be done, and from what I can tell, it will make little difference , even if you could find one.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Thats a link to info about bios updates on the tosh website. If you're not getting to the toshiba screen then POST has not completed which means that either there's a hardware problem or the bios is corupt. If you're sure the RAM is ok try flashing the Bios.
Problem is though, to make the bios update disc, you need a working computer.
and, err, It'll probably have to be a toshiba!
(sorry, not my fault!)

They don't list an XP driver for your model. Based on diljale's comments, though, I was able to discover that Atheros uses a single driver for all of its models, and he says you've got an Atheros card.
The direct download link, which may even work, is here:
If that does not work, go here:
Pick operating system XP
Pick All Categories, and scroll down to Wi-Fi (It may be so far down the list it won't show on your screen).
Find the first/latest Atheros Wi-Fi driver and you should be in business.
You may also wish to consider visiting http://www.radarsync.com and downloading the free software there, which attempts to tell you which drivers are out of date and tries to offer download links to the newest versions. RadarSync has many many flaws, but it can sometimes be helpful.

there is no actual password. you need to remove the ram and short out two pins underneath the black plastic they look ike two E's connected like E3. use a flat blade screwe driver. do this while powered off!
