Then you need to bring back the hard disk to where you purchased it along with the receipt. They will provide you with a new one. If you want to recover the contents of your hard disk, try putting it to a hard disk usb enclosure and plug it to a computer. It will be detected as additional data drive.

Please let me know how else can I help. Thank you for using FixYa.

My laptop cannot read my hard disk, why?

Either:
* no power reaching the hard-disk
* the "data" cable is no longer connected to the hard-disk and/or to the motherboard
* the "spinning" part of the hard-disk is no longer spinning
* the "electronics" part of the hard-disk has failed.

Take the computer to a qualified computer technician, for trouble-shooting, and possibly a replacement of the disk-drive.

Is the disk-drive still under warranty? If so, exercise the warranty to get a replacement disk-drive.

My hard disc daznet find my eny file

The disk-drive has malfunctioned.

Search online for a professional "data recovery service".
For a significant fee, they can repair your disk-drive,
just long-enough to copy your files to a new disk-drive.

If it still has a valid WARRANTY, exercise the warranty to get it repaired/replaced.

If the warranty has expired, then open the case, remove the disk-drive, buy a new "compatible" disk-drive, connect it, and thus "revive" your external storage device.

My computer wont recognize my external hard drve and the io magic light is blinking

Try connecting the external hard-drive to a different computer. If it still fails, and it is still under warranty, then exercise the warranty to get it replaced.

If the warranty has expired, open the case, and remove the disk-drive, disconnecting it from the USB-to-disk-drive adapter.

Connect the disk-drive as a "slave" disk-drive in some desktop computer, to see if the disk is recognized.
If it is, then the USB-to-disk-drive adapter has failed, and you could go to any computer-store to buy a new external case and adapter, and mount your disk-drive inside the new case, and work with your files.

If the disk-drive is not recognized, check the warranty on the disk-drive itself.

Blue window of death

There are two things to consider:
1) Your hard disk might be destroyed or have reached its lifespan.

2) Your operating system was corrupted.

Try changing your existing hard disk with another one. If it reboots and starts the operating system installed on it then it is presumed that the other one is destroyed.

Remove and destroy old hard drive

What I would do is take a screw driver a very small phillips, You can take it apart and remove the disks and destroy and break disks there just like a cd rom and then you can send the rest or it to be recycle at your nearest recycling plant that takes care of computer components. You can just put it back together and recycle it Please don't just throw it in the garbage, Toshiba has a place if you call the 800 number you can send the hole drive and they will destroy it for you, If you want to do that too. I would trust them that they would do so. I am sure if anything happened after that they would be responsible for it... I hope that helps you out...
