Frankly speaking there is no solution to this problem.
it happens with all brands but a bit slowly in reputed brands like HP.
Speed will go worst as u format them more and more.

You cannot get speed like a new one now but remember avoid formatting it excessively. It will work for long.

An average pen drive has at most 10 000 erase cycles

Hi i have purchesed 16 Kingston pen drive yesterday, i want to lock my pendrive by no as like password, so please help me out if u have any free softwrae for me Thanks

You will be provided with a free software Kingston secure traveller. In that, you can divide the pendrive into two partitions. One will be public and the other will be password protected.
You can get the software from the link given below.

I got gift from microsoft kingston(data traveler G2) 4.0 GB pendrive but i need driver for win98 .PLEASE GIVE ME SOLUTION

Hello

According to Kingston, there's no Win98 driver for your pendrive (the link is here: http://www.kingston.com/support/USBFLASHDRIVES/FAQ/faq_dti2g_1.asp )

However... they suggest using this solution (at your own risk), the same, that I used to, when I had my PC with Win98:

It shows this device can perform faster. the pen drive is slow

this is usb issue
your computer usb has a lower version than your pendrive
you cannot use better drivers because this is from mainboard chipset
Also you can put a pci usb card version 2.0 for your pendrive

Files in my kingston pendrive does not open up

Hi manoj_clc,

The "other PC" needs to have the same application installed that created the files. It sounds likely that is the problem for the other PC. If the files are failing to open using the PC that originally copied the files, then try formatting the USB drive (formatting deletes all data). Before you copy the file again, make sure the same file opens from your computer prior to copying it. Now copy the file to it the USB drive again.

Pen Drive 16GB not working on laptop but working on other PCs...

It sounds as though the problem is with your notebook, rather than the flash drive. Specifically, with the USB port you are plugging it into. If you have another USB on the notebook, try switching between the two, and see if it behaves any differently. Another thing that can cause a problem is if the USB port on your notebook is not USB 2.0. The older ports (as in, an older computer) didn't have nearly the transfer speeds of the newer standard.

Also, are you trying to run multiple USB devices on your notebook at once? That could cause problems as well.

Cheers
Nick
