SOURCE: Benq T701 LCD monitor

I had a similar problem: the backlight on my Benq T701 only functioned for a couple of seconds every time a turned the monitor on and then the backlight switched off (sometimes in two stages). An electronics guru at work said with those symptoms the transistors rarely were the problem and I just needed to resolder the connections of the high voltage coils onto the PCB. On visual inspection those solder connections seemed ok, but when I tried to reflow the existing solder at one connection I spotted the problem: just a thin surface layer of solder was present and I had to add solder to fix the problem. The 4 coils each have 6 leads on one side and 2 on the other. I only soldered the connections on the side with 2 leads. In just 30 minutes and without buying parts the monitor is now up and running again.

Even if you watch 10 video clips of LCD monitor disassembly at YOUTUBE, you will not find it very easy to do!! Do not use ANY sharp cutting instruments to "PART" the rear cover from the front bezel. One carless slip and it's a trip to local hospital "ER" to be sewed back together!!! Protect the GLASS lcd panel at ALL COSTS. YOU CRACK-IT, YOU BOUGHT IT, YOU OWN-IT, TOYOTA!!! 12fixlouie

Repairing BenQ 17′ LCD Monitor

benqlcd.jpg
I came across a common fault problem in BenQ 17′ LCD Monitor. The problem is have power but no display. Once you has opened the LCD cover, check the pico fuse for open circuit (very common), the push pull transistors C5707 for short circuit and the Buck royer circuit p-channel fet FQU11P06 also for short circuit too. For your information, if you can't get the FQU11p06 you can always use FU9024N as a replacement. Resolder all the high voltage transformer pins and replace the components above and I'm sure you will bring back the life of this BenQ 17′ LCD Monitor.
You may go to this fairchild semiconductor website to download the spec of the FQU11P06 P-channel FET.

Do you know how to open a benq fp91g+ monitor?

Here is the service manual: http://elektrotanya.com/?q=showresult&megnev=BENQ&megnev2=FP91&kategoria=&kat2=all

Most of the time you will use flat blade screw driver, starting at the bottom edge to pry open the case then work your way around, also look at YOUTUBE, just search for HOW TO OPEN LCD MONITOR.

BenQ makes monitors for DELL and HP.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed DELL monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

For the monitor that is more than 2 years old, first place to look will be the power supply, look for bad caps with bulging top first, post back what you see inside so we can guide you further, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps; http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Benq FP731 LCD not start up, only green power lamp

Opening it will not likely solve your problem. Have you tried another monitor on the computer to see if the problem may be with the computer itself?
