How do I fix a flashing Start/Resume light on a Kenmore Elite dishwasher model 665.13793K601?

These dishwashers are known to accumulate moisture in the keypad and then short. The solution that I have seen is to replace the keypad...It is possible that all of your issues with this dishwasher could point back to the keypad. After spending $$$ on the circuit boards, do you want to throw and additional $135 for a keypad? or replace the whole unit? Food for thought. Here is a link for you:

I have model number KUD 101TJBL0. I have spent about 300.00 on repairs. It keeps blowing the thermal fuse. I have had it replaced sev. times. My repair man has given up on solving the problem. I did read...

Hi,

This applies mainly to Kenmore Dishwashers with the model number 665.15835791 but also to any Whirlpool or Kenmore dishwasher with an electronic display. There are several possible trouble makers on this dishwasher that can cause this problem and we'll go through the most common ones.

1.Bad Door Latch Switches.

There 2 switches you can buy them from online vendors.

2. Blown Thermal Fuse

The thermal fuse is located in the control panel, called out as item #18 in this picture. You can check it with a simple continuity test. Or you can jumper it out to see if the dishwasher will start running normally. If it's bad,

3.Control board problems can stem from **** and noise in the dishwasher's electrical supply which make the electronics on the control board go flakey. This problem has been documented by Whirlpool in a tech memo (if your Kenmore model number begins with 665 then, yes, Whirlpool made your dishwasher). Or, it could just be a bad control board, plain n' simple.

The above one is a generic solution, also applicable for Kitchenaid Dishwashers.

The best online vendor as per user reviews :-

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

DO ACCEPT THE SOLUTION IF 100% SATISFIED.

Kenmore model 66516352301 diswasher flashes Wash but won't start

I had a simular problem with my Kenmore. I unplugged it for an hour or so and it worked for a while. (Disconnect dishwasher from power befer attempting this procedure!) I ended up removing the inner door panel and removing the circuit board. I used a clean damp (distilled water preferred) paper towel and wiped down the entire circuit board surface. I paid special attention to the areas between the closely spaced component leads. I dried the board with a dry paper towel and re-installed the board. The dishwasher has preformed flawlessly for the past 4 months.

I believe that the mist and steam deposites a thin film of very conductive detergent and minerals on the board surfaces over time. The resulting electrical leakage paths "scrambles" the control's "brains".

I also noted that prior to my repair, most of the led cycle indicating lights were very dimly glowing with the room lights out. Also, the wash cycle ran for a much longer time.

Lock on light flashing

I finally decided to calm down and use my head and managed to solve the problem. I read the instructions that are on the top of the dishwasher door. ( Smart move on my part HUH!) It said that when the door lock light is on everything is disabled. Hold the air/dry button down for 4 seconds and the lock light will go out. Guess what, IT WORKED. Here is what I learned from this. Always read all instructions. I spent $9.95 for an answer that was right in front of me. Humans can be so dumb I am!!!!

Child Lock on or Flashing Energy Saver Dry

I suspect that the cycle "button" on the control panel is intermittent.  Try using a different cycle - If you always use "short wash", try the "normal" cycle.
This worked for me.  It will be too expensive to repair, so I am dishwasher shopping.

Yeah, I have a similar problem. I tried to go into a suggested diagnostic run, but that didn't yield anything. I tried pushing the Sani-Rinse and Air Dry buttons back and forth a number of times. Didn't help.
At first I thought the lock-on had accidently been engaged, but disengaging the "child lock" doesn't help. The lock-on light comes back on and sometimes blinks rapidly. I"ve counted around 7 rapid blinks at times and 3 rapid blinks at other times--in case that makes a difference. The control panel doesn't work--in other words, the dishwasher does not start, even when I can successfully get other lights to come on. I don't want to spend >$100. for a new control panel if that is not really the problem.

Kenmore dishwasher Lock-On light flashing, will not start

Push the heated/dry button on the dishwasher for 4 seconds and that will unlock the dishwasher. This is just a safety feature that allows you to lock the dishwasher to stop kids from pushing buttons.
If that doesn’t’ work they will send out a tech to fix it.
