This error message is warning that the hard disk could fail soon. It pays to back up your data frequently so when the hard disk fails you will not lose youe data. The only way to fix this problem is to install a new hard disk, install Windows on the new hard disk and the Acer laptop's device drivers plus your programs and data.
Well this error message means that the automatic drive checking software that runs all the time has detected that the drive is failing, either the electronics or the media. You need to backup any data to a DVD or external drive. The press F1, is so you can continue on and do so. You can burn/copy the data to DVD or copy to a USB hard Drive. Then you will need to get a new drive and reinstall your Operating System & data again.
Copy any important files now to another computer or DVD/CD or USB drive. The drive may fail soon. If you buy a new drive, some come with software which will allow you to copy one drive to another. You can buy a USB interface to have the new drive connected to the laptop and then run the software.

here's what you should do.. first, as mentioned, you should backup all your important files in another drive or an optical drive... once you have done it, format your hard drive and perform scans to check the error.. during scan, you will see errors on it and you may not be able to fix it since the drive is internally damaged.. purchase a new one ok? just make sure to backup all your files..
It is highly unlikely that you will be able to fix this since it's a hardware problem on the hard drive. The drive may last for years or it may die tomorrow. At a minimum I would back up everything you care about on a regular basis.
If you found this information helpful I would appreciate it if you would rate this solution. I hate to beg, but over half of the solutions I've posted have no feedback. I'm not paid for this I'm just trying to help.
