Question about GE Refrigerators
Bought floor model, which was plugged in at store. I brought it home and started using it without connecting water line. Two weeks later, I installed water line. I am getting water at the filter but still not getting water to dispense. I then read in manual that if water line is not connected, ice maker power button must be in off position or valve may become damaged. I tried removing the filter and installing the bypass lid. Still did not work. Any suggestions?
This is a common problem with GE refrigerators. The water line freezes. It is a cheap and easy ($30) fix that takes about 15 minutes. I found a ton of people having this issue so I did a blog post with the symptoms and part to order. Read more about it here.

We took our new filter out and back in a couple of times, then it final started working. We are not sure why, but it worked! Good luck with yours.
