That means your iPhone is locked to a certain carrier (phone company) which means you can only use their sim card.

But no worries, here is a link to a guide on how you can unlock your iPhone:

Ok so i put my simcard in and it said locked sim so wat do i do

If you bought the iPhone used, it could be already locked to a carrier. If the iPhone wasnt previously purchased at full price (or jailbroken) then it will be locked to a specific carrier like Rogers or AT&T. If thats the case, you will have to contact that carrier and ask if they will unlock it, otherwise jailbreaking the iPhone can unlock it aswell, you can find guides through google on how to do it, Apple doesn't support it.

If you did buy the phone new, then try plugging into iTunes (make sure iTunes is fully updated, i think 10.3 is then newest). If it recognizes it and doesn't activate the SIM card, there will be an option to restore the iPhone (Erase and reinstall the operating system. If it doesn't recognize it at all through iTunes, follow this article to force it into Recorvery mode, which can let you restore it. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808

My iphone is not working with my sim

Your iPhone is probably still locked. You first need to unlock it. To do so, go to google.ca and type in ZiPhone. Download the software needed and follow the tutorial that comes with it. You should be able to unlock it and use any simcard you like.

If your phone is infact unlocked, and still displays that message, go into Installer in your phone, and install iWorld. Then select the country that the simcard is from and your problem should disappear.

I phone no sim

try removing the simcard from the iphone by inserting the end of a paperclip into the small hole at the top of the i-phone, this will push out the simcard. Then clean the simcard and re-insert it into the phone, the issue should now be resolved. if it persists then it could be because you have a faulty simcard in which case take your i-phone to your nearest apple/o2 store and they should give you a replacement.
