You will have to create a backup of the files you need. you can use programs to create an image or backup of specific files /folder or directories to an external storage before proceeding to reformat the drive. In the future, you may want to creat at least 2 partition of your hard drive, 1 for the OS and 1 for data so even if you need to reinstall Windows, your data is not affected unless a complete reformat of the hard drive will be done
