Question about Vizio VO22L 22 in. LCD TV

Open Question

VIZIO VO22L started displaying a white screen with multi-colored vertical lines after 30 seconds of play. This symptom re-occours after a power reset (ie: holding power button in for 60 seconds while unpluged). The rest of the time it will not power on at all. Now the "VIZIO" logo lights up amber but never turns to white and the power reset has no effect. Is this a power supply or a main board problem.

SOURCE: No Sound, No Picture

I had the same issue on my Vizio and fortunately it was still covered by the Costco extended warranty from where I purchased my tv. The service tech came out yesterday with a power supply and main board which is what I understand is usually the issue with your and my symptoms. He replaced both boards although he felt the issue was in the main board 3647-0072-0150 and not the power supply. Tv is working just fine now and actually may be even a little clearer after the board switch. I understand you can purchase the boards and from what I've seen the tech do, it is no more difficult to replace than if you were building a computer if you are comfortable with that. The most time consuming part of the repair was removing and replacing the screws.

SOURCE: Vizio TV 2006 vx32Lhdtv doesnt work.

I had the same problem after having a Vizio for 2 and a half years. I left the room for a minute, i came back and the screen went black. There was still power to the unit and you could see that the back light was working, just no picture, no sound, and you couldn't use any of the buttons. The only way to turn it off was to unplug it. It would then start up, with the Vizio logo going from orange to white, and then do the same thing all over, no pic or sound.

HOW I FIXED MINE:Look through the back vents for a white light to make sure the backlight still works. I ordered a new "main PCB" from tigerdirectparts.com (you can also use searspartsdirect.com). This is the circuit board with all of the inputs on it (hdmi, cable, etc.) I opened it up, disconnected the old one, put in a new one and now it works fine. I used both serial numbers on the board to search for it online. It cost me $144 to do it, but that's better than $450 for a new TV. My tv is the vx32l hdtv10a. I hope that helps.

For me the part number was either (depending on the vendor) : 0171 2272 2174 or it was 3632 0212 0150. Check your circuit and see if any of those numbers match up.

Logic Control D Board got nothing to do with this problem. This is your main power supply gone bad(usually not the sub power supply). I just repaired my VIZIO by replacing main power supply. Just remove back cover and your board will be right in the middle of the screen. Just get board part/serial # and google it. My best price was through eBay(around $100). Everything is fine now.

Really?

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

When I bought this computer used, it worked fine for a couple months, then I began to notice multi-colored vertical lines on the screen. At first, there were only a couple lines. Then slowly but surely...

sound like you have two different problems the question mark is the computer can't find the hard drive. p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica} p.p2 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica; min-height: 14.0px}

Check for a failing hard drive

Trying booting from the Mac OS X install disc.

insert the Mac OS X install disc.

press the start button, while holding down the "C" key on the keyboard

Once you are running from the disc. go to Disk Utilities select the hard drive click the "repair permissions" button at the bottom.

If you get any red errors listed or it doesn't seem to finish repairing the permissions you have a failing hard drive and it will need to be replaced.

The vertical lines is one of two thing a failing LCD module of a failing video card.

Here is how to check which one it is.

connect an external display to it.

if the lines show on the external display is a video card. Unfortunately the video card is attached the logic board and the whole logic board will need to be replaced.

If the lines don't show up on the external display the LCD module will need to be replaced.
