Same Problem E 3 error message which translates to Paper Jam. NOW- my wife did pull the stack of paper when she realized that she what she had printed out was 58 pages of nonsense. But there was no jam- and can't find anything physically wrong- and no way to reset the thing. It has printed less than 100 pages in its lifetime- Only have replaced one of the original ink tanks. It is OUT of warranty but there should be plenty life left in this thing.

same problem here - no paper any where but gives an e3 error message.

Happened a few times now and the only way Ive got if working is by shaking the printers upside a bit (very techinical I know). That doesnt seem to be working now.
I use this for business and am thinking of replacing it after just 1 months use

I had exactly the same problem - kept flashing E 3 but no paper in the $%%ing thing. I did all of the above and still wasn't able to reset the printer - absolutey ridiculous design. I ended up chucking it out of the kitchen window, and buying a different printer. I can recommend this.

The reset instructions didn't work for me either. I can get it into the service mode, but it doesn't seem to respond to anything from there. Thanks for the try- I do appreciate it!

The shaking thing does work from time to time but I dont think I like doing it often (I have it working again now).
Ive tried those reset instrcutions and they dont do anything - now I may be following them wrong as they are quite easy to mis interpret.
It does seem like a small problem being turned into a real pain with what otherwise is quite a good combo printer.

Try this
Open up the printer as much as possible and turn it upside down and shake it (be careful with the scanner lid though). See if anything falls out

or this service mode

  • Turn off the printer

  • Hold the Resume Button (red circle in the triangle), add a printer (click “Power”) an indicator light green.

  • Hold the Power Button, release the Resume Button.

  • Not releasing the Power Button, double click “Resume” and release Both Buttons.

  • Click “Resume” for three times

  • Once you click “Power”, to confirm the selected action (reset counter absorber). To disable the printer “Power” button to click again.

My Canon Pixma MP600R insists that paper is jamed in machine, despite the fact that jam has been cleared and paper is being ejected when machine is switched on

The simplest thing would be to try unplugging the printer from the power source. Let it rest for 5 - 10 minutes then plug back in to the power supply and see if that resolves the problem.

If not you are going to need to do a thorugh inspection to verify that all paper remnants have been removed.
