The first thing to check is the inlet thermal limiter located on the heater housing. Check its continuity and if blown, replace it together with the high limit thermostat also on the heater housing.

I sent my unit to a repair company in town because the dryer was getting really hot during a cycle and shutting itself off. They gave it back after just cleaning it out. Now when I try to run the drye

You have I think two issues. One is a clogged vent/vent hose. You need to have the vent system cleaned out. If the unit is not getting hot with the vent off, you probably have a defective heating element. This probably went out due to the clogged venting system.

Dryer does not dry well , an the turn knob does not turn while the dryer is on towards turnning off.

Lint Trap

The lint trap is a metal screen with a plastic handle that is located either near the corner at the top of your dryer, or inside the dryer door. In most cases, the lint trap is clearly marked. If your clothes are not drying properly, this is the first place to look because it is the easiest problem to solve. Remove the lint from your lint trap, and then see if your clothes get dry. If they do not, move to the next troubleshooting problem.
Vent Hose

To work properly, a dryer needs to be able to vent warm air. If the vent hose is clogged, bent or has a hole in it, your dryer will not work properly. Examine the vent hose to see if it is installed completely over the dryer exhaust vent, and to make sure it does not have a hole in it. Remove the vent hose to see if it is clogged. There are vent hose brushes you can purchase to clean the vent hose properly. Also check the exhaust vent on the dryer and the outside vent to make sure they are not clogged.

Thermal Fuse

If you have been running your dryer with a clogged vent hose for a while, you may burn out the thermal fuse. A burnt thermal fuse will allow the dryer drum to rotate, but the unit will not heat up. Your owner's manual will show you where the thermal fuse is and provide the part number you need to buy to replace it. Thermal fuses are available at most hardware stores and are easy to replace.
Heating Element

The heating element is the long, coiled wire in the dryer that heats up the air. Over time, the heating element can burn out or become defective. In some models, the heating element can be repaired; in other models, the heating element should be replaced. Refer to your user's manual to see where your heating element is and whether you can repair it or need to replace it.

I have a frigidaire dryer gler642as3 model it ran for two hours and didn't stop also when you open the door during the cycle it shuts the drum off but the dryer gets very hot you can't touch it what can it...

Well the timer could be defective. But believe it or not a clogged dryer vent can do some of the same things. Without air flow, the heater will heat, then when it doesn't circulate and and dry clothes, it gets hot and the hi temp overload near heater should turn it off, then when it cools it will start the same cycle over. Make sure you have good air flow coming out of the vent outside. If in doubt disconnect hose from dryer. Make sure to remove any lint. Put a panty hose leg over the hose and try the dryer. If it heats ok now, then you know your vent is clogged (panty hose will keep lint from spraying allover your laundry room)

My dryer is heating the laundry room more than my clothes, why is this?

Hello,
First make sure the vent, from the lint screen to the outside, is clear of a lint clog. Vacuum it thoroughly. Make sure vent hose is connected to the dyer securely and that there are no holes in it. If it still heats up, I would say it's the temperature sensor.
Hope this helps.

My Fridgidaire feq332es dryer has stopped heating in certain cycles. I read the thread about the control thermostat, I think I can change this myself do you have someone who can give me some direction on...

Have you checked your duct and vent for lint clogs? If you vent is obstructed, it will cause the unit to shut down the heat. Try removing the duct hose and examine for lint clogs. Be sure to look into where duct connects to your dryer. Then take a look at the wall vent, both inside and outside the house as well. You might try that before replacing the thermostat.
