Hello.

Be certain that there is no interference near your computer, such as a fan, phone or fluorescent light.

Sounds like your DVD player may be faulty. If there is a light on your DVD drive, first try a drive cleaner to see if that resolves your problem. If still a problem, your DVD would need to be replaced.

If there is no light on your DVD drive, look inside your computer case and check the power cable to the DVD - it could be loose.

Hope these suggestions help.

Everytime i try to play my system at full volume it cuts out then keeps playing and carries on doing this to i turn it to a certain volume

First of all find out the recommended speaker impedance for the receiver. Then find out the impedance of the speakers you are using along with it.
Simple rule is the speaker impedance can be higher but not lower than the recommended value. If it is so the receiver will run hot and if you turn up the volume higher it will run even hotter and then the protection circuit will cut off the Amplifier output to prevent burn out of components. Even if you have one defective speaker this cut off can happen. To confirm defective speaker -- disconnect one speaker at a time and turn on the amplifier and play it at cut off volumes. If by disconnecting one particular speaker the Amplifier does not cut off -- THAT SPEAKER HAS A SHORTED COIL and needs replacement.

I recently got a panasonic cq-rx300n and I cant get my mp3 player(phone) to play using the usb port, am I doing something wrong, or is there something else I can do instead.

the radio should have a button that switches it to your aux port (usb). if you have the manual it will tell you what button it is.

Protector appears on the screen

I have the same problem, i also have a STR-DE715. I have two thunder acoustic speakers and two 12in. punch subs. Now when i only play the subs i can go max volume, no problem, great bass the whole deal. Then when i play the thunder speakers i cant even go half way without the receiver shutting off and saying "protector" on the screen(both the speakers are 120 watt). From personal experience i think it could be the speakers youre using, either the receiver is giving too much juice and its preventing the speakers from blowing or the speakers need more power and the receiver cant give it. So a new set of speaker might be what you need. The receiver is 280 watts so something in that zone should work out. Also try turning off the sound field if you're using more than two speakers for the front output (i read this in the manual, you can pull up the users manual on www.manualshark.org and see if you can find something i might've missed) it supposed tp help it in one way or another. E-mail me at [email protected] and tell me if your problem was fixed or not. Im pretty curious myself to find a solution to this problem. hope this helps!

How do I get video input from one source and audio from another?

I am confused and might be overlooking something obvious here. SO PLEASE do not think I am being disrespectful! IF you have everything connected properly, then your television is a separate device, independent of your Sony STR. You should be able to watch the picture with the Sony STR turned OFF. In turn, you should be able to LISTEN to the Sony STR with the television turned off. Although it isn't a lot of fun, it might be best to DISCONNECT all the cables (not your speaker wire) and go through the process of reconnecting everything.
