The paper will not feed properly in my a940, it takes the paper in at an extreme angle, jamming the machine

We just replace the ink for second time, and now the printer will not take the paper. It makes all these sounds but it will not. I did notice something I opened the lid to see if the scanner will mover when I turn the printer on and it doesn't move. How can I fix it>

Here is the Dell support page the gives instructions for this errror, (though not overly helpful, I'm afraid.) See also instructions here, here, here,
If none of those steps correct the problem, reset the printer by following these instructions.

Dell A940 copier works fine but will not print

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

A940 doesn't feed paper correctly

My DELL A940 printer used to jam every time with the paper pulling to the right.
Solution - there was a pen jammed in the mechanism !
I was about to trash the printer when I looked deep into the workings from above, holding the printer to the window to get bright sunlight into it. I could see a round ballpen laying in the groove at the bottom.
Hooked the pen out and all is back to normal.
This may not be your problem, but its worth a look.

Hi,

To fix the Paper jam issue please try the steps below:
To fix the paper Jam errors please try the following steps:
1. Confirm that no foreign materials are inside the machine.
2. Confirm that usable paper is set.
3. Confirm that the paper is set properly.
4. Confirm that recommended paper is used, and the number of sheets set does not exceed the required limit. 5. Confirm that the paper trey Guides are ste in such a way that it is equal to the size of the paper, it should be set exat to fit the paper.
5. Disconnect the printer power cord as well as the printer cable form the printer.
6. Turn the printer upside down and shake the printer in order to remove any obstacle which is stuck inside the printer causing the paper jam error.
Open the printer cover and remove the cartridges and check carefully if there is any small piece of paper which is stuck inside, if so remove it carefully.
7. Disconnect the printer power cord and press and hold the power button on the printer for about 15 to 20 seconds( this will release the flee power) and reconnect the printer and check.

If the above mentioned steps do not fix the issue please up-grade the printer firmware form the Support.dell.com web site. However make sure that you do not turn off either your printer or computer when you are downloading and installing the printer firmware.

Should you require any further assistance regarding the printer or even for any other computer related issue please feel free to contact me I will be more than glad to assist you.

Do check the option and make sure that you have not inadvertently set it to black only- This could be computer wise or on the A940 panel. If you are sure all is well here Remove the scanner software and reinstall. Email Dell to See what they have to say
