Question about Lutron ELECTRONICS MAW-600H-LA SMART DIMMER

1 Answer

After a few years of working fine, the dimmer now won't go all the way to "off". The toggle also feels a little loose. Can this be fixed or does a new one need to be installed?

They are only around 40 dollars brand new. locate the breaker cut power and replace. Loose and not working can some time be tightened but this is a touch dimmer so it sounds to have gone bad.

I have 2 led transforms connected to a toggle switch. Can I put a toggle dimmer 600W controlling these transforms?

That depends on several things. Some LED power supplies are not dimmable, and will flash instead of dim properly when used with a dimmer. Many will work just fine. There are also specialty dimmers that are designed to work with transformers, though I've not found them much different.

Dual switch will operate each light fixture independently , but when you turn both on, the blink on and off. It has worked fine for 1 yr. Today it stopped working, I pulled out the little switch tab and...

I'm somewhat confused because the model number you mentioned isn't designed to handle two separate lighting loads. That said...

My best guess is that something happened with the loads that you are controlling. Did you change light bulbs recently or switch to a different type of lamp - because it sounds like you're having a minimum load issue. The dimmer keeps itself powered up by charging its electronic power supply through the light fixture. But I think it only charges through one of them. So if that one output has too little lighting load on it, the dimmer might not get charged up adequately and give you the issues you're experiencing. The fix would be to increase the lighting load.

That's just a guess, if you want it thoroughly diagnosed, I would contact the manufacturer's tech support center at 1-800-523-9466 - they're available 24/7 and it won't cost you anything.

Just quit. Worked fine one day. Next day went to turn it on and nothing happened. Fan is little over a year old.

Control switch, circuit breaker, or loose wire are main suspect.
Rarely does a motor just stop working.

Check circuit breaker.
Open control switch and test for power and check for loose connections.
Install ordinary on-off switch and see if function resumes.
Check wire connections at fan.

I have two dimmer switches in the same box side by side. one goes to three pot lights, the other goes to a halogen track light. these have been working for 5 years. the lights have burnt out and been...

Sounds like the transformer in your track light. In the box where the green light is, the voltage is converted by a small transformer from 120v to 12v for the halogen lights. With the breaker off, try jumping out the dimmer going to the track light (disconnect the dimmer and connect the two loose wires from box together). With the breaker back on, if you have 120v power on the wires (black/white) going into the track light transformer (measured at the track light), and the green light won't come on, I'd say it's the track light transformer. You may have to replace the whole track if you can't get the transformer as a part.

Lutron Maestro dimmer rocker stopped working

Because the switches are relatively inexpensive, there aren't kits to repair them when they fail mechanically. Your best bet is to get an exact replacement from a Home Depot or such, turn off the breaker switch, and rewire it exactly as it was, using wire nuts and tape.

3-way dimmer dead

It could be a loose connection, and it could be a loose connection on the OTHER 3-way switch across the room. Also, verify that the dimmer is rated for the fixture(s): add together the wattage of each individual light bulb that the dimmer controls and make sure that the dimmer has a higher wattage rating. If it isn't, you might have burned up your dimmer (and risked an electrical fire). Hope this helps!

Replace dimmer switch with toggle

Both wires should be black because the switch interrupts or breaks the connection to the light. It doesn't matter which black wire goes where. Just be sure the power is OFF and then undo the dimmer switch (usually has wire nuts connecting the black leads) and then connect the wires to the new toggle switch.

Turn on the power and feel good about your work!

No air coming through the vents

Sounds like the door that brings in fresh air is not closing enough so when you get to moving it is not letting the cab recirculate the inside air and bringing in some from the outside which comes from the bottom of the windshield on the outside. along with when you get to hitting the gas going down the road you might be loosing a little vacuum and that door going to your vents might close a little.. ? what you thinkin? just a few ideas might not be a fix though thanks Jerry
