Question about Ridgid 10"Wet Tile Saw with Laser and Stand

2 Answers

I purchased the new Ridgid tile saw named " The Beast". Initially it looked like a great saw buy after cutting a few ceramic tiles I began to notice that it cuts with a slight curve. I could not find any way to resolve this issue. I noticed that the motor/blade assembly which sits on an angle adjustment arm for angle cuts, has some free play. That free play is not something that I could find a solution for and I am wondering if that is causing this non linear cut. Ridgid tech support was no help at all either. Gave it back to Home Depot and I am wondering is I bought a dud and should try another unit.

Its either the speed of the blade ( mine came with its speed at half rate), or its the crappy blade they give you with the saw. If a cut is bowing your blade is having a tough time with material. This often happens with tough porcelain tiles and not using a porcelain blade.

Sounds like your blade is to high, your diamond blade should be about 1\4 to 3\8 of an inch below the slide tray that your tile sits on,also make sure you dont have the blade on backwards, blade will wonder off when cutting a blades width off edge of tile, try standing up front of tile when into cut leaving bottom of tile securly down

PLEASE - I cannot locate where to buy parts for a Ridgid saw (WTS200L)

The Ridigid WTS2000L Tile saw is actually built by Chervron North America and not directly supported by Ridgid. You can reach them at 866-974-3443. This is a direct line for WTS2000L service.

Hope this helps. Positive feedback always welcome :)

Was going to buy " the beast" but have seen a lot

"In my opinion" I would stay away from the Ridgid tile saw. We had one come into our shop for repair of a burned out motor and could not get parts for it. The saw, at that time, wasn't made by Ridgid, it only carried the Ridgid name. I'm not familiar with the Dewalt tile saw enough to give you an opinion on it. If I were in the market for a tile saw, I'd get one by MK Diamond, they specialize in tile, stone, etc. cutting and make the best tile cutters I've used and worked on. They're priced towards the high end but are of contractor or industrial quality so will last a long time. If they do need repairs they're easy to get parts for that are fairly priced.

I have a 10" ridgid

With bigger tiles I have to cut more than half way, and then turn tile around and cut last bit from other direction.

You might be able to cut half way down tile, and then move tile forward on tray.

My wheels come to a stopper and don't run off the track, so my saw is different than yours.

According to my translation your question is:

"I would like to know the price of water for cutting ceramic tiles"

Your best bet is to figure out how much water you will require and then call the water company to inquire what the charges would be for that amount.

I need to buy a tile saw I was searching on the internet & after spending 3 hours I came across this impressive website http://www.ciciliotandson.com/. I just want to ask you that are they reliable ?

Hi, I just went to that site you posted, I don't know what saw you were looking to buy, the saws looked like good quality, BUT they all looked very overpriced. Ive been doing tile since 1984 and have owned, mk,target, felker, pearl, tile saws. everyone of these saws have a 10 inch blade and are very very good for a thousand dollars you can get these saws with saw stand, blade all the gauges ready to cut.the pearl saw \pearl abrasive co.\vx 10.2xl has a 1 1\2 hp motorweights 83 pounds and cut a 2 foot by 2 foot tile or a 18x18 diagonally, great saw,the mk, target and felker have saws that will cut the same size of tile but are bulky in size.if i was you go ask tile setters at a tile store, before you buy a saw.good luck Chad

Tile Saws types problem

Mass produced ceramic tiles of medium to soft grades are cut easily with hand tools. The glazed surface of the tile is first scored with a tool that carries a hardened metal wheel. Then with a support directly under the score pressure is applied to either side of the cut and the tile snaps along the score. The harder grades of ceramic tiles like fully vitrified porcelain tiles, stone tiles, and some clay tiles with textured surfaces have to be cut with a diamond blade.
