Epson stylus cx8400

i just purchased a imac( ox10.5 leapord) with a epson printer. i can scan, copy and print from a digital camera or memory card, but when i try to print from the computer the printer continually feeds paper without ever printing anything. what should i try? I have reinstalled the driver more than once and tried a later driver that came off the net instead of the one that came with the printer that says is used with operating system ox10.3 and higher
