Question about Ovens

1 Answer

After using the 2 hr. speed clean cycle on this range successfully, I went to bake in it several hrs. later to find that oven barely gets warm . I can set temp and indicators show elements "on" but thats it. Console shows no error codes and all range top quartz elements work fine. This appliance is 18 months old and has seen moderate use. The bake element (in over) will no longer get hot, should the element itself be replace or could it be something else? Range model RS675PXEQ0

It does sound like the bake element is probably the problem. Many ovens turn on the broil element with 120 volts to even out the heat in the oven or pulse the broil element. This may be why the oven is warm but not baking.

Electric range/oven switched from bake to self-clean without my help!

Good Afternoon Mr Oliver!
Often, if Whirlpool oven starts to do things on its own.. the touchpad might be failing or faulty. Keys fail and short, meaning they think they're being pressed when they actually aren't. Do you have the model number of you oven?

Oven is not getting hot only warm

You may have a failed bake element, and the reason why the oven is only getting warm is the Broil element is cycling only. You may be able to remove the element and ask your local parts store to test it for continuity.

Whirlpool oven door won't open.

You can try unplugging the over for a while and seeing if that helps. But if that doesn't help you will have to let the oven complete the cleaning cycle in order to regain use.

Oven went in self cleaning mode and shut off door unlocked f90 error code will not bake

During the cleaning cycle, there was a temp sensor malfunction that may have damaged the temp sensor. this is a common occurrence with this model. this is refereed to as a runaway temperature code. the sensor lost control of the cleaning cycle and it got to hot. the temp sensor is fried and it will need to be replaced.

Door won't open after self-cleaning cycle is complete

Turns out that the latch is attached to a plastic piece (made by the manufacturer) and the spring melted! To boot, the fuse in the back which aids in heating the oven went out also. Repair man said this was typical after several uses in cleaning cycle. He recommended using a gentle steel wool pad with soap built in to gently remove backed on food instead of using cleaning cycle. It is just too hot for too long, and there seems to be a domino effect with things that will go wrong. Nothing like the old fashioned way and a little elbow grease!

Door lock lites keeps flashing but the door is not locked

The F9 code indicates there is a problem with the door lock.

Try disconnecting the power to the range for 10 seconds and reconnecting. Open the oven door and hold the door switch plunger in while you try these things. Put the control into clean for 5 minutes then cancel clean. You must hold the door switch plunger in for the 5 minutes.

Try canceling the clean cycle without putting the control into clean.
