Goto the control panel - add/remove programs and remove all Ur printer programs. Goto the control panel - printers and uninstall Ur printer. Leave printer connected. Reboot. when system detects the printer, load only the driver for it from the cd. Try printing, if it works then U can load the printer programs from it's cd. Make sure that the printer programs are compatible to Ur os.

Set-up won't recognize that the USB cable is connected to both printer and computer and therefore printer won't work. What's up with that??

1. Confirm the USB port on the computer you are connecting your printer to is being recognized by your computer. The easiest way to do this would be to plug a known good USB Memory stick into the USB port you want to use. If you can read the contents of the USB Memory stick then the port should work. Remove the Memory stick, start the printer installation program (Make sure you don't the printer connected), want until the setup program tells you to connect the printer before you attach the Printer's USB cable.
If the printer isn't recognized try a different USB port, when picking a new USB port to try select a higher priority port, for example in increasing priority from, an external USB hub, a powered external hub, a monitor based hub, USB ports on the front of the computer, up to the USB ports at the computer rear. For USB ports on the same circuit select an USB 2.0 before an USB 3.0 port

Hello.
It sounds like a issue with the hardware inside the printer. if possible try the printer on another PC, or try another USB Cable. Sometimes the cable can appear fine but can have small breaks inside it. You can also try your current cable on another persons printer to rule out the cable.
If you can not get the printer working on another persons computer I would suggest replacing it. it is cheaper than getting a tech to fix it.

Printer does not respond to computer

Check the type of connection - are you using a USB connection or a Wireless connection?
- If USB, turn off the printer. - remove the power cable at the back of the printer, then remove the cable to the wall outlet. Wait for 10 sec. then reconnect all cables. - turn on the printer and check if the computer detects the printer. - If not, try to remove the USB cable at the back of the printer and computer. Wait for 5sec. reconnect the cable back. Try other USB port if not detected. - If still not detected try to use another working USB cable. - If replacing the cable did not resolve the issue, try to install the driver of the printer.
- If wireless connection try to check if the printer is connected to your router. Run the Wireless Setup Wizard in the front panel of the printer. Select the name of your router. - Download the Network Diagnostic Utility on the HP.com website to check what is causing the issue. It will give you the instruction on how to resolve the problem.

MY Samsung scx 4521-f all in one is not Recognized with I connect through USB Cable . Changing the cable din't work What to Do.??

For USB Cable to work, you need to install USB driver compatible for your printer. Otherwise your printer will not be detected. Try to download USB driver for your printer to make it work. Because it is not the same as parallel port that can be connect directly.

Printer connected but not printing

Hello,
If your printer has a network port you should be using the network adapter.
Otherwise you want to make sure you connect the printer with a USB cable to the appropriate port on the D-Link.
Once the USB cable is connected you should be able to add the printer from your computer as a shared printer.
You will not normally see any activity lights on your router for the USB connection because it does not send or receive information the same way the LAN cables will.
I do recommend a LAN cable though as it works much better with routers. If your printer does not have one I would look into getting a network printer.
Thanks,
Pat

USB CABLE

the printer is designed to work with a parallel cabel connection. usb to parallel conversion cables may or may not work.
now for the second part is, about the driver (visit manufacturers website for updated drivers), usb driver behaves differently compared to parallel drivers as it expects a usb printer connected to a computer. try both drivers. remember, it may or may not work.

G85 USB failure

You will have to replace the main board in order to get a new USB connection. Have you tried using the parallel connection. Looks like a regular parallel connection but smaller. It takes a special cable that was originally sold with the printer. We have those cables for $15 if needed. The USB cable may be out but the parallel connection may work fine.
