Question about Dremel 400 1/6 120V Xpr Rotory Tool Industrial

Open Question

I can not remove the drill bit chuck from my dremel 400. I push the button, keep it pushed in but it still will not release, I can feel the push button popping in and out even though I am holding it down as hard as possible. What can I do? It seems like the push button is broken.

SOURCE: I need to replace the bent shaft that the chuck screws onto

I would go direct to Dremel.com or call them at 1-800-437-3635 and get the schematic and parts you need, I just checked and they have a parts diagram online that you can view. go to the section about manuals/literature and type in your model number. Good luck

SOURCE: I cant loosen the head on the dremel 300

Another suggestion: you could put a point on that rod with a grinder or a file, or a dremel, and it's good as new.

Could I get a "problem solved" / "fixya" rating on this -- there are icons at the bottom of this posting I believe.

How do I change the bit on my porter-cable 18v drill? Where/how do I line up the black dial with the silver dial to release the bit??

I just looked at some illustrations on ebay of Porter-cable 18 volt drills and they appear to be fairly standard cordless drill/drivers fitted with fairly standard keyless chucks that you get hold of with both hands and twist in opposite directions like you are giving it a Chinese burn. The part of the chuck nearest the bit twists anti-clockwise to loosen.

If you have an SDS drill for heavier duty jobs the chuck is semi-automatic in the drill bit just needs pushing into the chuck and clicks into place but the outer part of the chuck is pulled back in order to release the bit.

How do i attach the drill bit to my dremel 300

You can use a drill that fits directly ( one size) or you can use a small chuck made for the Dremel. example: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Dremel-1-32-in-Multi-Pro-Tool-Chuck-4486/100531881

Push the rubber sleve off the drill bit and up the drill bit then the plastic ring. release the clip around the spindle. Slide the clip and chuck sleve forward and remove the ball sitting in the spindle. You should then be able to pull the bit from the machine. If it does not want to come hold the bit in a vice and tap the spindle off the end of the bit using a suitable punch. Rebuild chuck in reverse.

Dremel 3100 won't release the drill bit. Button at the top is pressed in and won't come out.

The button is only to keep the shaft from turning while you loosen the collet (the nut) with the little wrench. THEN the tool comes out.

Cannot remove sdsdrill from chuck

If it is stuck you may have to cut the collar (item 139) that you push to release the bit. I use a dremel tool and cut through once on each side. Once that is removed you will see the spring, plate, and ball that hold the bit it. You just need to remove the ball. If it is still stuck then it is stuck in the spindle itself (item 149). You may get lucky and be able to use a punch and hammer to hit the spindle end while holding the bit in a vice. A helper to hold the tool is recommended when doing this method, If you still can't release the bit from the spindle then it has to come apart anyway. Here is the parts diagram. I didn't find the exact model you listed but they should all be pretty close. The bit retaining method is a pretty simple design and easy to work on.

How do I open the chuck or drill mouth to replace the drill present in my DeWalt Heavy-Duty 3/8? Keyless Chuck Drill?

Hi Tony,

To remove the bit with a keyless chuck, just turn the chuck to the right (looking from the handle to the front) to open the jaws. To put in another bit, tighten the chuck to the left to close. You have to use both hands. You will see where the ridged portion of the chuck is in two sections. Hold on to the back section with your left hand to keep it from turning while you turn the front section with your right hand.

A lot of the time I just push the button to put the drill in reverse, hold on the front section of the chuck and turn it on. It will loosen by itself. Then when you put the new bit in, put it in forward and hold on to the chuck and press the switch. The bit will be in nice and tight.

Good luck.

Hello... I've rented a Bosch 11318 Hammer drill and it did not come with a manual......could you please tell me how to insert the bit. thank you.

You should only need to push the bit in. If that does not work grasp the chuck and pull back towards the handle than insert the bit and release the chuck. You remove the bit by doing the same pulling the chuck back and taking the bit out

How do I fit drill in this machine please? DEWALT D25113K D25113 3 MODE SDS

Youcan only use standard drill bits with the use of a chuck attachment with the SDS type bayonet. These hammer drills use an SDS type drill bit which just pushes into the fitted chuck and are released by pulling back on the lock mechanism on the chuck.
