Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

I have a Dishlex DX203WK dishwasher and it is not heating the water as it is supposed to. I have removed the heating element and it measures 26ohms, so I suspect it is OK. What else could be wrong?

I am reasonably sure that the heater did not heat at all during the wash cycle! The manula says it should heat to around 50-60 degress C. Do you think the thermostat could be broken?

The thermostat could be faulty and therefore turning the heater off earlier then the desired cutoff.

Do you use cold water connection or hot? some dishwashers expect the inlet temperature to be within a range?
I will check out the specs for your model and come back to you later.

Sorry I didn't want to alarm you, but going through some of the internet postings on similar models most people seem to have fixed this problem by having to replace the control card.

Now this is disturbing as you will have to see the investment in that versus buying a more reliable dishwasher.

I would suggest you can verify this by tracing the heating element wires to the control card and checking if you get a voltage across the two wires during heating cycle. You will have to remove the door front cover to get there.

Unfortunately these models are very unique to Australia and there is not enough open documentation to diagnose.

What is the the test for the heat element

All you need to do is set your controls to heated dry cycle, and see if the interior heats up nice and warm. You can also check the element by touching it when it is not heated, and note how warm it is, and then when you run the heat cycle. Careful not to burn yourself.

Dishlex 302 water not heating

My son fixed this problem with our DX302 dishwasher only this morning. Now works fine and hot. Found the solution on this site posted 11 august 2008 from dishwasher dishlex dx302wb no hot water. There are photos to help you. Take out the circuit board in the top of door and resolder the points on left hand side of green board there are 2 long solders and a half moon. The problem is at the top of the 2 long solder lines. Do not replace your element. There is a fault with the circuit boards on this model 302. I want to thank all the posters for helping me fix my no hot water problem.

Dishlex Global Unable to remove heater element retaining screw

I have a simialar problem with the Dishlex 450 Global model, after searching for the heating element on line, I found a picture of the element (450 model), showing that the Stainless Steel screw is actually spot welded to the element bracket, hence you should be able to remove it by accessing a retaining nut from underneath the dishwasher....(turn power off first!)..

MDB7600AW water level

I'm not sure if it is suppose to fill above the heating element. The heating element may just be there to dry the dishes instead of heating the water. Try using a pitcher to fill the unit manually to above the heating element. If water drips out from below the kick plate then you know the water is not suppose to go that high.

Let’s say the unit is indeed under filling.

Check for a deformed shaft on the water level float. Remove the kick plate and look for where the shaft of the float touches a micro switch. Often the shaft is bent sideways and only engaging the micro switch indirectly. Straighten by hand for a temporary fix or reinforce the shaft with aluminum tape and sewing needle. Keep the retrofit light weight to avoid problems with water overflow.
