Question about Delphi SKYFi3 XM Radio Receiver

1 Answer

Car cradle works "wirelessly" with Car Radio (inherent design of unit). Place Unit in Cradle; connect Cradle to Auto Power Source, and SkyFi3 should power on. Press Menu to Get FM Radio station channels; select a lower station Channel Frequency i.e. 88.3 or any vacant channel number and the signal should transfer to your Radio speakers automatically. You can change Station frequencies as often as you need to do so--for example if traveling through different broadcast areas, some channels frequencies are clearer than others. Good luck. This was another persons question...I have the same problem, and have done all the above, still won't connect? Thanks C. Hiner

I have my skyfi pluged into my computer and it blinks and is not charging or connecting what should I do?

I do not believe the usb charging is supported. Reading others notes, I am not sure it will charge your unit. I had the same problem and had to put it in the cradle and plug it into my car to charge. I went on line and bought an ac adapter so I can charge in my house.

Delphi SKYFi3 XM Radio Repeater

You begin by setting up your existing (((XM))) antenna the one that came in your home kit (not included in repeater package) in a location that gets good reception of the (((XM))) signal. This may be outside, or on a south facing window sill. This antenna gets plugged into the rear of the Delphi (((XM))) Radio Signal Repeater Transmitter. A power jack is right next to the antenna connection, and should be plugged in and to the wall with the included power supply. There is also a "PWR OUT" selector switch on the rear of the unit which allows you to control the strength of the signal transmitted from the unit.

Once the power and antenna are attached, both blue indicator lights will light up on the face of the unit. The blue antenna indicator will light up only to signify that the antenna is attached correctly. It does not let you know whether your antenna is in a location receiving a good (((XM))) signal or not. You will have to look at the signal strength indicator on your (((XM))) radio receiver do determine best location for the (((XM))) antenna.

Once you have this setup, place the Repeater Antenna close to your existing (((XM))) Radio and plug it into your antenna jack on the (((XM))) radio cradle. This connector is identical to your (((XM))) Home Antenna provided with all Boom boxes and (((XM))) home receivers and kits so compatibility is guaranteed. The Repeater Receiver Antenna does not require any separate power connections. Hope this helps!

Downloading instructions Delphi SKYFi3 unit

You can't download Xm programming, like you can from itunes, where you get a song in 3 or 4 seconds.
Do you mean record music? You must record realtime, either while listening or while the unit is idle in its cradle.
It's easy. while listening to the radio in the cradle (press mode repeatedly to get to Live XM mode), then press the center (play/pause) button.  the menu will pop-up, select Record.  It will give you the option for Song, Channel, and Session.  Just chose one of the first two and press the button.  You should see a microphone appear at the top of the screen.  It's recording.  Follow the same steps to stop the recording.  Setting up a recording session is self-explanatory once you get into that screen.

I had the same problem. Opened up the unit but did not see any loose IC chips. I noticed that the power lead goes into the cradle so I found someone who had a 700 series roadmate and borrowed their cradle and attached my unit to it. To my surprise it worked ok. When I tried to use my cradle on his unit it would power off by itself. I also found out by checking on a few user reviews that there has been lost of problems due to the cradle. Sounds like it not designed too well.
