Question about Creative Labs Zen MicroPhoto MP3 Player

Zen Microphoto My computer will not recognize my Zen Microphoto and the library of songs are gone. The computer calls the Zen a MTP Device. What can I do to solve the problem

    Yes same problem, was mowing lawn and suddenly went dead. Powered back on and the recent downloads were gone. Tried to dock to 3 different computers and will not be recognized, even though the player says it's docked. One computer did recognize it as a MTP, but still would not connect. My Zen is White, not black.

Reinstall the usb drives on the pc or use the usb ports on the back of the pc

Unplug the device from the system, turn it off entirely, allow for some 10min and power it again before you plug to your netbook. Or you could plug to the netbook first before powering the device if the first idea did not solve the problem.Lastly, turn off or restart your netbook while the device remain plugged in.You may be prompted to insert the installation disc if your Creative Zen Microphoto device is not a "plug and play" depending on which windows platform you are operating.Goodluck!

Player not reconized


What operating system are you using? The Zen uses the MTP driver so if you have Vista or are running windows media player 10 or 11 the driver should be present and the device ought to be recognized. If not, check device manager for your zen device. If it's there, right-click and uninstall, disconnect your player and after a few seconds plug it back in. Windows should then reinstall your driver.

Zen vision m not recognized


Same problem. Solved by downgrading Windows Media Player to v.10. Do it through Control Panel and click Remove WMP11 and WMP11 runtime. Restart, connect your player and if not recognized do go to Control Panel=>System=>Hardware tab=>Devices. Find Portable Devices drivers in the menu and click Uninstall MTP device. If still not detected, go to Control Panel=>Detect New Hardware and run that. The player should connect automatically. WMP 11 has a glitch that disallows 3rd party MTP players. Intentional or purposeful? Ask B. Gates.

Zen V plus can't detect by the computer & all the data base losts


Suggestion: uninstall the failed portable device in Device Manager.

Note: You should already have the application for your portable device installed on your computer before continuing.
1. Go to Device Manager and make sure that your portable device is not reporting any problem. If it is, uninstall it.
2. Reconnect your portable device. The computer should detect it now.

if it's able to be recognized by your computer, try uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them, to do so go to start>control panel>system>hardware>device manager- then find your device under removable storage(most likely) and right click and click on uninstall....then reboot the computer, once it's rebooted, plug in the zen again and reinstall the drivers...if you don't have the drivers, here they are. then after that (if it doesn't work) update the firmware here

Creative Zen MicroPhoto 8GB, in recovery mode, the device is not connected


Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

i had the same problem but solved it, it seems that the usb driver does not always install with the software installation so you must install using the DEVICE MANAGER make sure first your mp3 player is connected, so ( copy & paste) your software to desktop, then go to CONTROL PANEL, then SYSTEM, then HARDWARE then DEVICE MANAGER, in device manager you should see ( zen v plus ) with a yellow question mark above it, which means the drivers are missing, click onto that and follow instructions to install the drivers which you will find in the software you have pasted to desktop. good luck, tony spain

Solution ID # 4794 from creative site ZEN Micro and ZEN MicroPhoto 1. Make sure that the battery is charged. 2. Detach the ZEN Micro or MicroPhoto from the PC, and ensure that it is turned off. 3. Remove the battery. 4. Move and hold the Power button to the Power On position and re-insert the battery to the ZEN Micro or MicroPhoto. Hold the Power button until the Recovery Mode appears. The following options will be displayed: -Clean Up : Scans the player and removes invalid links from its music library.Does not affect music files themselves. -Format (All):Caution! Erases all content!Save a copy of your player's content before formatting. -Reload OS/ Firmware : Caution! Erases your player's firmware. DO NOT select the Reload Firmware option unless you have access to a PC and you have downloaded the necessary firmware to install. Reboot Reboots the device.
